Welcome to your private getaway! This cozy 1 bedroom cottage sits on just over an acre of land. Surrounded by trees and set back from the road, you'll be able to enjoy nature, quiet and privacy. With a very large fenced yard, your furry friends can safely run and play in the grass. Conveniently located within walking distance to Davis General Store and just down the road from Five Islands Provincial Park, Lighthouse Park and Diane’s Restaurant, you've got everything you need right here.
The Space:
This is an open concept cottage with a fair size kitchen, dinning area (workspace is along the wall in the dinning area) and living room.
There is 1 bedroom with a queen size bed and a pull out couch in the living room.
Outside is a large fenced yard. We love our animals and built the fence for our two big dogs. We don't have any little dogs so there are some gaps that a little one can sneak out through. We hope they have fun out there <3 ***Please PICK UP AFTER YOUR PETS*** There is an extra $50 cleaning fee if animal droppings are left around the property. This is necessary in order to continue being able to offer a pet friendly Airbnb.
There is a small fire pit out in the yard. You're welcome to use it, you'll just have to bring your own wood.
**There is an old dug well behind the house. It is covered and not within the fenced area, but if animals or kids are going to be playing outside the fenced area, please be aware of this.**
The property backs onto woods with a series of trails. You're welcome to go exploring!
Guest access:
The house and land are all yours during the stay. We do ask that you don't go in the garage.
Other things to note:
Davis General Store and Fish Market and the Five Islands Bazaar are within walking distance (1km). There's also a play ground at the Bazaar.
There are 2 restaurants within a couple minute drive from the house; Diane's and Granny's.
For outdoor exploring there's lots of options!
The Five Islands Lighthouse Park is my personal favourite, it's got a great beach, playground, and a cute seasonally decorated trail through the trees. The Five Islands Provincial Park is great too! It's got more wooded area and a nice beach as well. Either direction on the Glooscap Hwy and you'll find short hikes to some nice waterfalls. Economy Falls to the south and Hidden Falls to the north.
Parrsboro is about 25 mins away and is a cute little town. Two Islands Brewing in Parrsboro often has live music and has alternating trivia and karaoke on Fridays! It's lots of fun but make sure you call ahead to book your table.
This is a rustic cottage. We happily called it home for 2 years and are happy to share it with you, but this is not a luxury stay. This is a rural area and there are occasional power outages.
Please be aware of wildlife. Make sure you've got tick repellent and are bear aware around dusk.
