Good service, facilities, location and decor

Would stay again. Very good experience.
I travelled by train to Folkestone and bus 102 (the Dover to Lydd service). The hotel is not only opposite the shingle beach, it is just a few minutes walk to the Royal Military Canal and ten minutes walk to the old town high street with the surrounding quaint lanes and an old church with ossuary.
My room on the third floor had a seaview which was enjoyable despite the scaffolding being there temporarily while work has been undertaken. The room had everything one could need including a fridge to keep water cold, an ironing board and both bath and shower. I found six short dark hairs on the bath surround which were soon gone after a swish with the shower head. I'm not one of these guests to make a big drama over such a small thing.
The rooms were clean otherwise and decor was fresh and comfortable. Shower hot enough. One of the quietest hotels despite it being large. No heavy fire doors banging and blessed with quiet considerate guests nearby. So I slept like a log on the beach and enjoyed a hearty full breakfast in the morning. The food was fresh, good quality and a buffet service.
The swimming pool and spa facilities were clean and welcoming. I like the jacuzzi being in a seperate area and there are plenty of showers to use between sauna and steam room. I enjoyed a swim late afternoon but was unable to enter the pool before breakfast due to overcrowding due to a lack of pool etiquette from members.
