Dolphins never cease to make you go “awwww”, but when they’re pink it’s more like “wow!”. The Amazon River dolphin starts out grey, but turns pink as it gets older. And get this: when it gets excited, it flushes hot pink! Now that’s a sight you don’t want to miss. Living in the freshwater rivers of Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela, this endangered dolphin species is a rare tourist attraction that’ll tickle you pink to see!

Pink Sands Beach, Bahamas
Forget about sparkling white shores, here it’s all about shimmering pink sand. A protected beach on the small and secluded Harbour Island, Pink Sands Beach stretches for three pale pink miles beside the clearest blue waters on earth! Now that holiday snap is sure to wow your besties back home! Cherry Blossom Festival – Hirosaki, Japan
A treasured pink bloom in Japanese culture and the nation’s unofficial flower, the cherry blossom (sakura) blooms for just a week or two in spring – no wonder everybody celebrates! One of the best cherry blossom viewing parties in the world is the Sakura-matsuri Festival, which takes place in Japan’s castle town of Hirosaki at the end of April every year. What better excuse to feast on cheerful food and sip on sake with the locals? All beneath a blanket of pretty pink florets.

‘The Pink City’ – Jaipur, India
An entire city welcomes you donned in its finest pink rags in India. A colour traditionally associated with hospitality, Jaipur was painted pink to welcome the Prince of Wales in the late 1800s – and still to this day residents aren’t allowed to paint over it! Crowned ‘The Pink City’, you’ll fall in love with the majestic palaces, tranquil temples and splendid fortresses to be discovered amongst the sea of pink (and don’t miss the killer jewellery either!) in this totally gorgeous desert city.

Barbie Dreamhouse – Sunrise, Florida
Still think plastic is fantastic? Indulge your inner eight-year-old with some pink-tastic fun at Barbie’s house. A lifesize replica of Barbie’s Malibu beach house, The Dreamhouse Experience in Florida comes to life with over 20 pounds of glitter and 100 gallons of pink paint. Absolutely everything is pink! Check out the awesome baby grand piano, wander through the giant plastic kitchen and take a stroll down Barbie’s catwalk. Come on, you know you want to!
Lake Hillier, Western Australia
It’s pretty hard to imagine, but yes, this lake on Middle Island touts bubblegum pink waters that are sure to catch your eye. Off the coast of Esperance, the best way to see this pool of pink is to fly over it, surrounded by sand rims, dense woodland and the blue Southern Ocean. Why pink and not blue? Scientists think it’s dyed pink from bacteria that lives in the salt crusts. There are some other pink lakes on the mainland too, like Pink Lake, but don’t believe the name – it’s not pink all year round.

Pink Rabbit (Hase), North Italy
Fancy a bit of culture? Forget Italy’s galleries – flee for this artwork in the mountains instead. At the top of Colletto Fava hill in North Italy this 55-metre long, 5-metre thick pink bunny is waiting for you! Created by Vienna art collective ‘Gelitin’, they actually want you to climb up onto the giant stuffed bunny so you feel tiny like the Lilliputians from Gulliver’s Travels. And if you can’t make it in person, you can still check it out on Google Maps!

Rosé Wine – Provence, France
Who could forget a glass of pink while on holidays? And Provence, in France, is by far the best spot to enjoy it. The largest wine region specialising in dry Rosé – and the oldest in France – pink tipple is part of everyday life here. And it goes perfectly with the cuisine of Provence and the nearby Mediterranean influences. Feel the joie de vivre and try as many as you can on the wine routes criss-crossing the region. Rosé is all about lightening up and having fun!
