For those of you who think your Dad is not that into cars, here\u2019s a hot tip from me \u2013 even if they drive a 1990 Corolla they ALL love the idea of driving a Ferrari or a Lamborgini*.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So in my quest to become number one child, I jump at the opportunity to take my Dad on a one-hour Ferrari and Lamborgini joy ride<\/a> on the Gold Coast , which I\u2019m pretty sure will secure me the top sibling spot \u2013 Woop!
\nFor starters, we get to spend some quality Dad and daughter time and additionally get to bond over our mutual respect for fancy cars.
\n\"<\/a>The drives are run by Derek who leads the impressive three-car convoy of a black A Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari Modena 360 through the backstreets and cane fields near Coomera with his zippy black Lotus.<\/p>\n

There are four of us on the one-hour ride and Dad and I start off by driving the Ferrari \u2013 all on our own! Eek! It\u2019s a little nerve wracking that the two of us are manning the car ourselves (for me) so I let Dad take the wheel to start with.
\n\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Ferrari has paddle gears instead of a normal shift and Dad only takes a little while to get the hang of the changes. We wind around the backstreets and even though we aren\u2019t breaking the speed limit (I don\u2019t think), we reach it each time in what seems like seconds and I\u2019m gripping the seat a little tightly \u2013 sorry Dad.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s like going on a ride and when it comes time to switch drivers I hate to admit this now but I completely lost my nerve and let Dad continue on for me.
\n\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Of course this whole experiences is for Father\u2019s Day so I think we both get more enjoyment \u2026 and safety with Dad driving.<\/p>\n\"<\/a>\n

Half-way through the ride we switch to the Lamborgini in a car park where a small crowd of teenage boys take photos of our party. These cars really do get some attention.<\/p>\n\"<\/a>\n

Hot tip: Single fellas you can hire them for a day if you trust yourself with the insurance excess. Although judging on the crowds we picked up I might even suggest this as an excellent ploy for single ladies!<\/p>\n

The Lamborghini is a stick shift and \u2026 I chicken out again after Dad has a bit of an *ahem* incident with changing gears. It\u2019s like a bonus present for Dad and I can sit back and enjoy the ride!
\nAgain we wind through the streets and this time get to take the car on the highway to see how long it will take to hit 110. The answer \u2013 not very long!<\/p>\n

All in all I think this is the perfect Father\u2019s Day gift. It included a bit of Dad and daughter QT, Dad got to do something he really loved and I got to take a totally Facebook worthy photo of me with a Ferrari!

Not in Queensland:<\/strong> Not to worry there are exotic driving experiences available all over the country to get all Dads revved up this Father\u2019s Day \u2013 or any day for that matter.<\/p>\n
