From Dior to Lanvin, Dolce & Gabbana to Valentino, the fabulous Modern Love<\/a> exhibition in Bendigo<\/a> boasts all the big names on every fashionista’s radar.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\nThe exhibition’s collection hails from the Los Angeles\u2019 Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising Museum (FIDM), and has everything from haute couture designs, slogan t-shirts and daring leg warmers you could only get away with wearing in the 80s. Having always been fascinated by the glamour of the fashion world, I can’t wait to check out garments from fashion\u2019s most popular names!\"Slogan<\/a>

Upon arriving in Bendigo, lastminute lovely Shauna and I prepare to be dazzled by an afternoon of fashion\u2019s finest. As we enter, we’re greeted by an elegant, red Marc Bohan for Dior dress with a large bow, and are excited to know that there are plenty more visual treats to follow!

With intricate and clever designs by fashion\u2019s biggest buffs, it\u2019s hard not to picture yourself strutting down the catwalk with what some may deem the showstopper of the exhibition; a wonderfully tailored Alexander McQueen evening dress, inspired by the heritage of Britannia and modern Britain. Ah-mazing!
\n\"Evening<\/a><\/p>\n

Not too far is another one of Modern Love\u2019s must-sees by Australian designer Toni Maticevski. Hailing from Melbourne, Maticevski is the only Australian designer to have made the cut, and understandably so!
\n\"Haute<\/a><\/p>\n

This tailored neoprene \u2018Haute Drape\u2019 dress ticks all the boxes when it comes to looking chic, refined and\u2026 did I mention chic?
\nLook familiar? Toni Maticevski\u2019s designs were on full show at this year\u2019s Melbourne Cup, with Rebecca Judd and Jennifer Hawkins both draped in his finest gowns.<\/p>\n

And of course, the daring designs like this anime inspired dress by Hiroaki Ohya.<\/p>\n\"Anime<\/a>\n

As well as this boxy power-suit by Thom Brown, a designer who otherwise revolutionised contemporary menswear.<\/p>\n

Each design symbolises movements throughout the last few decades, including post-punk, the 80s and contemporary fashion. Modern Love offers a great insight into the influence of fashion, illustrating how some of the world\u2019s trademark designs continue to inspire our fashion choices today.<\/p>\n
