{"id":36143,"date":"2013-05-28T06:45:30","date_gmt":"2013-05-28T06:45:30","guid":{"rendered":"\/\/www.lastminute.com.au\/vc\/blog\/?p=23427"},"modified":"2015-03-13T11:54:19","modified_gmt":"2015-03-13T01:54:19","slug":"dining-with-the-lovelies-at-the-chelsea-brisbane-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lastminute.co.nz\/vc\/blog\/dining-with-the-lovelies-at-the-chelsea-brisbane-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Chelsea bistro restaurant review: dining with the lovelies"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<div class=\"pinkLinks\">I know I\u2019m slow on the uptake getting to <a href=\"http:\/\/lastminute.dimmi.com.au\/restaurant\/the-chelsea?cid=lmau_blog_post\">The Chelsea<\/a>, especially since it\u2019s been described as \u201cA slice of New York City\u2019s Lower East Side in Brisbane\u2019s sunny \u2013 and equally trendy \u2013 Paddington\u201d, but with lastminute lovely Louise visiting Brisbane from the big smoke of Sydney, I take the chance to tick this trendy restaurant, off my \u2018to dine\u2019 list.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"pinkLinks\"><!--more-->The chic little restaurant is situated in the lively Barracks precinct in Paddington, Brisbane. The ambience is warm and the fit out gives the appearance of a classy bistro that\u2019s not too fussy. We decide to trial some Freycinet Riesling to help us make our tough decisions.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the \u201cwine trial\u201d we decide on another bottle of the wine\u2026 and our food line-up looks like this:<br \/>\n<strong>Starters &#8211; <\/strong>Charred breads, pistachio dukkah, lemon &amp; garlic dressing. A great little filler since we\u2019ve taken so much time (and wine) to decide on food. I love a slow roast and this one is just as I\u2019d hoped and dreamed. Tender and succulent and mixed with the pumpkin puree it\u2019s a delight. The spinach and pomegranate not only add flavor they look great and make me feel like I\u2019d won the ordering competition. And since I\u2019m writing this review that means I DID. It\u2019s a dish for two and they describe it as equally as delicious as mine. In Louise\u2019s words \u201c<em>Succulent chicken with delicious earthy Moroccan flavouring. The lemon chutney add a fresh zing. Straight from the horse\u2019s mouth, Sam describes the dish as, \u201c<em>An extremely delicate freshly made Pappadelle paired naturally with the bold truffle oil and Calabrese sausage. The buttery taste of the Pecorino finished the dish perfectly.\u201d<\/em> Then he added, \u201c<em>Pappadelle derives from the verb &#8216;pappare&#8217;, or to gobble up\u2026.
