I love flying. The thrill of heading off on a new adventure never fails to have me in high spirits and there\u2019s not much that can break my holiday high. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Someone famous once said that it\u2019s the journey, not the destination that matters, and while I don\u2019t completely<\/em> agree, I do believe the journey can either add to the experience or it can seriously detract from it. This particular flight was the former \u2013 it put one delicious cherry on top of a great pie…ah, trip.<\/p>\n

The airline? Garuda Indonesia<\/a>. Read on to see why.<\/p>\n\"Garuda<\/a>\n

  1. The food and drinks<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Priority number one when I fly are the refreshments. There are a few things that are required for this to be a success:<\/p>\n

    1. Meals and drinks are free (very important)<\/li>\n
    2. Meals and drinks are plentiful<\/li>\n
    3. Meals and drinks are available whenever I want them (got to get my money\u2019s worth!)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      I\u2019m pleased to announce that Garuda ticks all of the above. From the warm towelettes, pre-lunch snacks and hot lunch options to the mango weis bar that we\u2019re offered after lunch and the lollies for landing, we don\u2019t go hungry \u2013 in fact, I\u2019d say we\u2019re probably a bit over-full (but who\u2019s complaining ;)).<\/p>\n\"Garuda<\/a>\n

      1. The large selection of entertainment<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Although it\u2019s only a 6-hour trip to Denpasar, Bali<\/a>, good entertainment makes all the difference. I actually really enjoy watching movies on planes because it\u2019s the only time where I can sit for hours and watch without distraction \u2013 the perfect opportunity to watch Boyhood (3-hrs). I also watch Perks of Being a Wallflower and a quick disclaimer \u2013 if you tend to get emotional when you watch movies, don\u2019t watch this one on a plane. I can guarantee you\u2019ll be embarrassed when the lights come back on for landing.<\/p>\n

        1. The service<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          We\u2019re amazed at how efficient and friendly the service is. From check-in to taking our seats on the planes, there\u2019s no time messing around with service announcements or lining up. We\u2019re promptly shown to our seats and the plane leaves the tarmac before we can pull out our books. The stewards and stewardesses are also lovely and incredibly attentive, and always checking in to make sure we\u2019re happy and not hungry or thirsty.<\/p>\n\"Garuda<\/a>\n

          So there you have it \u2013 three reasons that I\u2019ll fly with Garuda Indonesia time and time again.<\/p>\n
