The breakfast buffet was exceptional! Many food selections, both hot and cold. The bistro also had amazing food. As for the room, the beds were very comfortable. We found the room cramped, with nowhere to lay luggage. The walls were thin... We could hear people talking and walking in their rooms. We had trouble with the toilet, which kept running, and for some reason this was preventing hot water from getting to the room?? We figured it out, but had terribly low water pressure in the shower. Overall the food was great and our room was so-so.

We stayed for one night during our NC500 trip and had a great experience. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming — a big thank you to the reception team for making us feel so at home. The hotel is also very dog friendly, which was a huge plus for us. Our dog says thank you again for the treats from the lovely lady at reception. The town itself is amazing and full of charm. We even picked up a few lovely NC500 souvenirs from the hotel. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Great location but needs updating

Great location with friendly staff, but rooms need some updating. The bed was soft and there was a lot of noise from within the building with squeaking floorboards from the room above us. Also was able to hear their shower. The wardrobe was narrow so the coat hangers stuck out along with the hospitality tray so we had to move it to the desk so that it wasn't knocked in the night.

The only downside was no lift and was not aware of any ground floor rooms available, but strong Scottish lass took my suitcase to 1st floor, but declined in taking me upstairs as well

A well managed hotel with attentive and seemingly happy staff. The food is simple but well cooked and very fresh. The only problem we had was with the exceptionally sunny and hot weather, which made the south facing bedrooms very hot. Draping the curtains over the windows might have helped, but I guess it's not expected in Scotland. We would stay again.
