Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Too many hidden charges.
Be careful.. lots of extra charges applied at hotel if not booking direct with them.
Parking used to be free for guests, now £10 extra a night, paid at hotel. Also, we booked a room for 4 people, bed and breakfast. Seemingly however, the hotels.com only allows for two adults. So, an extra £6.50 per kid also applied.
I've been coming here for 5 years, next time I won't book through hotel.com as too many hidden charges.
Check in staff great, very courteous. As always.
Great location, right in the heart of Stirling.
Very comfortable room with lovely view.
Breakfast was great, good selection and cooked breakfast items were lovely and hot.
Great value too for a 6 nations rugby weekend.

Historical hotel with dated decor
The hotel is beautiful. The staff are wonderful and all round well performing. However, the property is dated and looks like it’s hit by CEO pay rises — the staff deserve to have a well paid job and the hotel deserves money towards better maintenance as a historical landmark.

Liked: Staff & service
Hotel was ok for what I needed. Walls are a bit thin though if you’re a light sleeper and have noisy neighbours!
They’re room was extremely comfortable and the service and staff were amazing. The building is old, so I could hear the neighbors, but it is charming and clean. My only complaint was the breakfast was kind of pricey, and it sat for too long under the heat lamps and kind of got crusty. Otherwise, I’d give this place 10 out of 10. I’ll stay here again, and I recommend it to anyone considering it.
The building is certainly a maze, but once I got to my room it was great! Much bigger than I expected and very comfortable with a clear view of the sunrise over the city.
One of the window locks was broken, and there was a pretty big step to get into the shower, but those were really my only complaints.
It's really convenient for exploring Stirling and had lots of amenities I didn't have time to explore. I'd definitely stay again.
Staff at the welcome desk was friendly and wonderful. Very nice building and room but I did not appreciate the stain on the bed linen.I left a note for the cleaning staff and slept on a large towel. Not the hotel's fault but guests were very noisy in the corridor during part of the evening which was quite annoying.
I had dinner at the restaurant where the food was fabulous but the young lady providing service was horrible and not attentive at all..
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel apart from the shower in our room had no pressure and was like a dribble coming out. The facilities are good we used the pool, sauna and steam room.
Stirling is a lovely town. I had the good fortune of picking the Highland Hotel. After a very long drive down from Skye I was greeted by very friendly hotel staff. My room was extremely big! Bathroom too. Parking was easy, I just left my number plate at reception. Likewise I was able to walk within 2 minutes the centre of town for dinner. The Hotel building itself is quite interesting too.
