The cabin was nice with a great private yard and dock. The lake was quiet and we only saw three boats out at the same time as us, even on the weekend. It is not handicap friendly with the hill to the lake being steep and all bedrooms upstairs, but if mobility isn't an issue, it's a nice place to stay.

In the area for a reunion and decided to make a vacation out of the week. We had nine in our party- a family of 4, a couple and 2 sisters and college aged nephew. I was worried 2 bathrooms would be inadequate but we were fine. It is 100 yards too the lake down a sloping lawn. The fire pit was great with some seating. Water toys like kayaks, a paddleboat and paddle boards and a lily pad provided a lot of fun. The lake is rather reedy but clean, good pan fishing and occasional northern activity. There are about 30 residences onthe lake so there isn't a lot of traffic. The lake is large enough to go tubing or water skiing. The pier itself does not have cleats or posts to moor your boat but we managed. There is an upper deck to enjoy morning coffee while listening to the loons. Lots of movies, games and puzzles for evening. Nearby was a nice fairy trail through the forest. We found lots of frogs on the path and some Chanterelles. Lots of wildlife- deer, turkeys, a fox, grouse, squirrels and mosquitoes.

Very comfortable house

Accurate listing. Well stocked home. Towels provided. 2 crock pots. Clean. Extra blankets. Several fans in each bedroom and ac unit kept the house very comfortable in the summer. Long way to the water. Red Raven coffee was a great find in Crosby and Victual ice cream was delicious- all lactose free. Spent time mtn biking in Cuyuna

Great for family!

Very clean and comfortable. We didn't get the welcome packet/access info until we requested it an hour before arrival, but host was very quick to respond. Wish there had been shampoo or that I had known that when packing, as this is the first VRBO I've stayed at that didnt have shampoo.Lots of fun lake toys to enjoy even when the lake was too cold to jump in. Great place to crash at night for a reunion in the area!

Beautiful Location

This was a great place for our family vacation. We had 4 adults, a 3 year old & 10 month old twins. The kitchen was set up well, there was plenty of room inside and outside. Nice little beach area for little kids to "swim" and the lake was wonderful. We had pretty good luck fishing and the bay we found for swimming was great. Not a super busy lake at the time we were there, so that was a plus! Would definitely recommend this location to others!

Peaceful

If you are looking to relax on a quiet lake this is the place. Very beautiful lake where you can swim, fish or kayak. Neighbors are very friendly. The walking trail across the street is a lot of fun, but you definitely need bug dope. The water toys and equipment are super fun. It's nice that they rake a little beach area so it isn't so weedy. We didn't have the best weather, some days were rainy, but we had games to play indoors. The outdoor firepit looks nice, but it was too rainy and windy for us to get a chance to use it. The house was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. Plenty of space for a peaceful, relaxing beautiful vacation.

Home on the lake

We had a very relaxing time at this lake house. The water toys were put to great use! So thankful the toys were there to use. The house was very clean and spacious for our little family. The back deck was so relaxing to drink coffee and watch the lake from, I even saw two humming birds staring at me:) However there were many mosquitoes in the evening that it was impossible to enjoy our fire. That was ok though because we were able to watch a movie all together. Enjoy our stay in Minnesota.

Quiet setting

Our family had a good time. The place is clean and it is a very quiet setting. Having more wood available for campfires would be nice so we don’t have to haul any from home.

Secluded and quiet

We had a very peaceful and quiet time. The home fit all 9 of us in our family easily, although we had to be a little creative to get everyone around the tableat meal times. Beds and furniture were comfortable, and the main level with the 2 patio doors looking onto the lake was such a nice view! The home, though close to other properties, feels secluded and private as trees separate the homes. Another review commented on the distance to towns/shopping, and it does take about 20 min to reach the nearest town. The lake was quiet, and during the week we only saw 2 or 3 boats each day. We definitely used the kayaks and paddle boat to their full potential. Our kids enjoyed swimming by the dock. It is a gradual slope in the water, so kids could touch long past the end of the dock. I enjoyed the quiet walking trails, but definitely needed bug spray for those! Overall it was a relaxing and peaceful stay!

Nice lake house!

Comfortable lake house on a great fishing and swimming lake near Brainerd attractions. It is a little drive to to the nearest town (about a half hour) so come prepared. There is also public water access on the far north end of the lake for bringing your own boat. Our group was 4 adults and 5 children ranging from ages 3-11 and everyone was very happy with the stay.

Nice secluded location on Ross Lake

Overall we enjoyed the stay. The kitchen was well appointed, containing a very nice collection of pots and pans and food storage containers. It could have used some more food prep materials such as mixing bowls and spatulas/spoons. The beds were firm, but comfortable. The linens provided were more than sufficient for our stay. The water toys were used a lot! The kayaks, paddle boards and lilly pad were great to have, especially when a fishing lure got caught in the weeds. The lake bottom around the dock was very mucky, nearly stealing sandals off feet. The location around the dock is not great for swimming, but the sand beach would be sufficient for small kids. The lake is reasonably quiet with lots of pontoons, but not a lot of speed boats. Bring bug spray because it has been a long time since I've had to deal with such an influx of mosquitoes - unbelievable amount of bugs. The listing mentioned there may or may not be firewood - there was very little available. There was a neighbor advertising free firewood, so we grabbed some from them. The listing also noted that there was a charcoal grill available, but there wasn't one on the property. The gas grill worked fine, but we had planned some meals around the charcoal grill. Understand if you book this place that it is about a 30 minute drive to Aitkin or Cross Lake - Emily is about 20 minutes away. If you need something from a store, plan to have to travel. Overall it was a good stay.

Water toys make the trip!

This is a great spot, very secluded on a heavily wooded lot. The best part were all the awesome water toys - a lili pad, paddle boat, paddle board and kayaks. Kept the kids super busy and we all had a lot of fun. Highly recommend and would definitely visit again!
