The Melrose was modern, very clean and the breakfast options were superb. Local for all restaurants / town amenities. We would recommend this guest house to anyone and will definately stay again next time in Ambleside Brett Glossop

Absolutely perfect! Kevin and Tracey have created such a lovely B&B. The decor, the extra touches like plenty of coffee and tea choices in the room, lovely furnishings, breakfast so lovingly made and Kevin and Tracey are so lovely. They’ve gone the extra mile and have given us the perfect stay. Close to shops and restaurants, transport and lake ferries. We could not have asked for a nicer experience.

Short break to the Lakes

A great guest house in the heart of Ambleside with secure parking a two minute walk away. Room was excellent, very well decorated ad fitted out. ON-suite was good and the shower was super powerful. Tracey and Kevin were great, super friendly and breakfasst was top notch, loved the big fat cumberland sausage and the poached eggs were excellent. Would highly reccomend.

Everything was top class. Beautiful room. Comfortable bed, toiletries, TV, tea tray all great. Breakfast was high quality. Very enjoyable. Guest house is right in town so you can walk to shops restaurants and good pubs. Highly recommended.

A beautiful clean and central to everything b@b. Brilliant hist and fantastic breakfast. Could not ask for anything better. Parking in a secure car park 2 min walk away. You can park outside the Melrose for an hour with a parking disc from any shop or the b@b. In all we would highly recommend The Melrose.

Just had a lovely stay for 2 nights, can’t fault it really pleased with our choice of accommodation. Parked on the road outside the first night then parked in a gated car park for the b&b on the second night.

Room was clean and very cozy, great during the colder months. Staff were awesome and the cooked breakfast was a great start to the day. Would definitely recommend staying here. Secure car park is about a 2 min walk from the property no issue for us but something to keep in mind.

Just what I needed

Kevin and Tracey were the perfect hosts. I booked the room very short notice after arriving in Ambleside but was greeted by Kevin who showed me where to park, my room, and pointed out the best pubs and restaurants to visit in the evening. I used the secure parking down the road which was handy (Not sure what I selected on the parking section of the previous page of this review as the options were blank for some reason). Room was perfect for my needs, very clean, comfortable bed, and all the amenities I required for my short stay, the bathroom was also very clean and modern. Breakfast was my favourite part of the stay, it was just what I needed before climbing Helvellyn. I would have loved to have stayed another night but needed to get home. I would definitely stay again next time I am in Ambleside, thank you!
