the room was large and clean it was extremely noisey in the room above us and we could hear every footstep and conversation. it was if there was no sound insulation between the floors. breakfast was ok but very expensive given what it was, an equivalent in the UK would be included in the price of the room. the area where the hotel was situated was not the best but did have good transport links

This is a minimalist hotel with only the most basic amenities. I specifically disliked that there was no proper soap or shampoo. The squeeze bottle was difficult to use. The good thing was that the room was very quiet, so you could sleep properly. The location isn't the most convenient, it's very far from the central areas.

Decent hotel

Hotel was fine, good breakfast, clean comfortable rooms, but disappointed they didn’t do evening meals. Especially with a hotel full of marathon runners!!

The hotel itself was great, only issue we had was that our room door latch was not working, and our bathroom door wouldn't shut unless it was slammed with force. Front desk said they would send maintenance up to look at the faulty door latch, but if they did, nothing came of it. Other than that our stay was pleasant. The area around the hotel is definitely dodgy - there's a homeless shelter just around the corner, and we witnessed drug dealing and junkies right outside the hotel gates. One guy (very clearly out of it) even walked into the hotel grounds to ask guests who were smoking outside for money, though security was quick to escort him out. Even though my partner and I come from a place where this is the norm, we would not choose to stay in the area again unless absolutely necessary.

Repeatedly, we had to ask receptionist to act as bartender. Bartender was absent from the bar. It made us feel that no one really cared about us. That reflected in a lack-lustre lobby. Empty most of the time with no charm or warmth. Wont visit hotel again.

The staff was extremely unhelpful and unfriendly. The furniture is the cheapest of cheap. The “closet blocks the hallway and makes it nearly impossible to bring suitcases in. The shower does not drain well. The tv did not work. Possibly just the remote, but there was no staff available to help resolve that, and the telephone that did not work.

Not the cleanest, with rather small rooms and a cramped bathroom (even the triple with three twin beds felt tight). On the plus side, it’s close to public transportation and about 25 minutes to the heart of Amsterdam.
