We stayed three nights. Easy check in, easy check out. No issues at all. Room is very big. Location is perfect. Very close to Amsterdam Central Station, but quiet. Hotel has the character and atmosphere of the Amsterdam.

It's a lovely place with elegant rooms but most importantly, some very professional staff supporting our stay. The spa facilities were immaculate and really added to our winter break. Only gripe on this recent occasion was that our check-in was delayed, but the offers of free drinks and looking after our luggage meant that it wasn't such an issue so no stars are dropped.

Grand Amrath is a historical landmark with its art deco design. Located near the Amsterdam Central Station, the hotel is very accessible to the city's landmarks, shops and restaurants.

Historic hotel that was very unique. I was upgraded to a suite, which was amazingly big and beautiful. The bed itself was extremely comfortable and I found the room very quiet. Restaurant on premises offered a varied menu. Food was excellent and service was spectacular. Check-in staff were extremely accommodating, I got assistance up to my room along with a little tour. Check-out was not as accommodating. I checked out at 6:30am so the 2 staff tucked away in the office could have been tired, but neither offered to help me get my very large checked bag and 2 carry ons down to the street. Which leads me to the last comment, there are a number of stairs to the main entrance so if you arrive with large, heavy bags be prepared for a workout 😉.
