Look past the disagreeable receptionist ...

Clean, kitchy 60s style previous naval officers quarters, with individually painted murals in all the rooms, plus other art works on display. Bed was very comfortable, food good. One major issue was the receptionist who was persistently irritable and disagreeable. It was a shame as everyone else was friendly and pleasant.

The vibe is great. Artsy place. There was a jazz band playing in the bar when I returned from exploring the city. It’s off the beaten path a bit. I was a bit sketched out walking through the park to the entrance the first day but realized it’s a pretty good area overall to be. Wanted to stay an extra night but the place was all booked up.

This was a horrible room. The end table were stools.. not old or classy stools. The lights beside the bed were plastic boxes with Christmas tree white bulbs Everything was mismatched and worn. It should not be listed on Travelocity. The sheets were clean and the bathroom appeared newly done. We were next to barb wire fences and it appeared the hotel was also being used as university or other housing. This was not a cheap room and I should receive a refund. It was a mess!

This was nothing more than a very expensive hostel. Really a dump for the price. Location was good. Parking was a nightmare. I picked this place because they had parking but then when we arrived, nothing was available Excellent restaurant though!

There is a hilarious sarcastic morning host at the front desk. This place has a funky retro vibe and the bar plays great music. Rooms are clean and comfortable and lots of windows. The family room is nice in that the parent’s bed is separated somewhat by a wall and closet for privacy. Outside are the public swimming lanes of Amsterdam harbour and garden tables which are lovely to sit at and have a drink. All the serving staff are very friendly. This is a little gem just outside of city centre where there are nice lawns and it is away from traffic in general. It is very picturesque. Much more affordable than rooms downtown though probably not for travellers seeking a luxury experience. I definitely want to come back and see some live music next time and would use this as my home base again. While the property is great for the budget as an accommodation the food and drink is not inexpensive, but it is of better value in quality than you will find at tourist spots in the city centre.

We were pleased that the property was convenient to both cruise terminal and train and trolley station. Staff was very helpful in accommodating luggage storage early morning on the day we arrived.

A quirky hotel with a clean room, friendly front desk staff (Larissa was awesome!), and a cat! Loved the story of how she got her name, Amy Winehouse. Food in the restaurant was tasty. Little further from city center than we expected, but easily reached by public transport or Uber. Elevator a little slow, but the let you know that when you check in 😉. Loved looking out on the harbor and watching the sunsets.
