Seals, otters, osprey and dolphins are all seen along this coastline, and deer and pine marten can be found in the hills. The immediate area is noted for its hillwalking, climbing, kayaking and mountain biking, and the peaks of Suilven, Stac Pollaidh, Canisp, Quinag and Ben More Assynt are all close by. Sea fishing is available within a mile. The pristine, white sandy beaches of Achmelvich and Clashnessie are also just a short drive away, and the village of Lochinver is 9 miles along the coast. This thriving, small fishing port, with its natural harbour, has an excellent selection of local amenities including small shops, pubs, hotels and restaurants.
