The apartment was clean, lovely, and in the perfect part of town for us. Could have used a couple of amenities like salt/pepper/oil. Otherwise, we really enjoyed it, and it was a great jumping off place for the convention center. I did find the communication with the owners/managers confusing. Besides being impersonal and without a sense of continuity, I was contacted by them through my email from a variety of email addresses with different domains. I also got a phone call that started with the beep used by call centers. Honestly, I thought VRBO had been hacked and I was getting phished. My preference to message exclusively on the VRBO site was not honored. However, all is well that ends well.

This apartment is in a very convenient location downtown, close to everything. That is why I chose it... BUT... there are A LOT of homeless people around and the people and traffic are EXTREMELY noise at night. We were exhausted every night from our activities, so despite being light sleepers, we did manage to get sleep somehow. The apartment is just like the photos - cute and clean and a nice place. The stairs up could use a good cleaning, but once inside, it was great. The wood floors are VERY creaky and noisy but that's kinda cool too. Even though there are lots of homeless peole, everything was fine for us. And there are also lots of tourists around too because downtown Anchorage is fun. I mentioned convenience: the bicycle shop we rented from to ride the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is literally across the street from the apartment (catch the trail a few block from the shop, and you are immediately in the forest with moose and black bears!), and other shops are down the street. The grass-covered visitor center is 2 blocks away. Restaurants and cute shops are all around. You can even walk to the train depot by cutting down the hill through the bright yellow bldg across the street. You have to pay to park downtown during the day, but free after 6pm and on weekends. There is a small parking lot for 3 at the opposite end of the block from the apartment (thank you, bike shop owner for telling us about it!). If you cannot bear to be around homeless people, don't stay here!

The accommodations were nice but the noise from near businesses was too loud. Also this is in a homeless area.
