Excellent hôtel. Well located. You have a nice breakfast in a beautiful garden. Everything was perfect except we would have liked the hotel personnel to fix the shower so we could have hot water but it did not seem to happen even after asking. Would still highly recommend.

We did not have hot water. The hot water came in for seconds, you need to wait for the water to get hot while you are with soap on. You need to rush to get the hot water. The rest was good. The bed, pillows very clean. It was noise at the back of the room.

Property was nice and clean, room clean and quiet, one female staff was extremely unwelcoming, and dismissive, looked like she was fed up with her job all the times I saw her at the front desk, my check in was at 1500 so I waited and I saw her letting other people check in and asked 10mins early because people were just getting keys, she rudely said 1500. After she left a male staff let me check in right away at 1455 because the rooms were already ready. I know everyone else was nice but one person can ruin the experience for you.

The staff at Las Farolas are wonderful — very accommodating of special requests. We enjoy staying here as the rooms are comfortable, breakfast is good and convenient (the restaurant serves other meals, too) and the garden is delightful. The walk is not too far to other restaurants and the parque central.

The property and room were charming. The only thing is that the walls were paper thin and the noise from outside the room was very audible inside. It’s probably because the building was old.

The Excellent and the Bad

The staff was definitely excellent. A very nice breakfast is included with your stay. They offer authentic Guatemalan dishes as well as international choices (pancakes, oatmeal). The food was delicious and the presentation top notch. This place has an amazing garden and the restaurant is in the middle. You literally feel like you are in the rain forest, just beautiful. A security guard at the front door made us feel safe. The room was spacious, clean, but it had a slight moldy smell. I know it’s Antigua, but I could see the black mold on the bathroom ceiling. The hotel is located about 5 blocks from the Central Park. You have to walk about a block to start to come across businesses. The rooms are located on the street side. You hear the traffic as if you were out side. Buses, trucks, motorcycles, cars, on cobblestone street (you get the point). There was a problem with the water system when I was there. The shower went from nice to just hot or cold. I would not stay hear again mainly because of the traffic noise. I felt like a truck was going to come through the wall at any second.

This property was beautiful, quiet, clean and safe! The staff were always ready to help and helped us book private safe transport to and from the airport. They provide you a map with walkable attractions which most of them are free. Our room was quiet, the beds were nice and hot water showers were great. Overall, I would highly recommend this place and stay here again!

The staff here are extremely helpful, warm and friendly. One cannot ask for more than this when far away from home. The rooms have a very rustic feel, quite lovely but the walls are a bit thin. One night we had very noisy neighbors..I alerted the front desk and they dealt with this a prompt and professional manner.
