Rooms are extremely old, fixtures are rusted, curtains and bed sheets are dirty, furniture breaking. Limited restaurants and no background music in them so all you hear is the clinking of utensils and people’s chatter. Some staff member were very nice and others looked bothered by you asking them for anything.

Estaban haciendo remodelaciones en el hotel y tocó que afuera de nuestro cuarto en el Balcón estaban trabajando durante todo el día,estaban muy ruidosos desde cómo las 7 de la mañana y después cuando acabaron dejaron todos los restos de pintura que habían quitado de las paredes, nunca nos avisaron que iban a estar trabajando y tampoco nadie fue a limpiar nuestro balcón cuando acabaron el trabajo. Nos sorprendió lo pequeño que el hotel está,no tiene bar en el área del lobby,tiene solo una alberca normal y una alberca muy pequeña con bar,nos tocó estar todo un día sin que tuvieran cerveza por qué se les había acabado,las meseras tienes que estar hábleles y hábleles para que te puedan traer otra bebida por qué nadie está al pendiente si algo te falta,también son un poco groseras al momento de contestar. La comida estuvo bien pero en el desayuno buffet les falta más variedad,los restaurantes que reservas para las cenas la comida y la atención estuvo muy bien. La playa está hermosa.

The only reason I give this hotel any credit at all is because of Lamaro, the amazing buffet girls, Shanquell, and Eddy — they were the only people who showed us kindness and professionalism during our stay. Unfortunately, Kenson and Denisha completely ruined my best friend’s birthday with their unprovoked rudeness. They were so mean that we actually got up and left the restaurant mid-dinner, which says a lot since we had originally chosen to eat at Riu Paradise Island instead of Atlantis because Lamaro made our previous night’s dinner so fun and memorable. Thankfully, Lamaro and the buffet girls went out of their way to sing “Happy Birthday” to my friend the next day, but the damage was done. We felt so uncomfortable and disrespected that we would never return to this property. To make things worse, our bags weren’t delivered for over an hour after check-in. We called three times and eventually had to go downstairs and get them ourselves. We’ve stayed at other Riu resorts, including Riu Montego Bay, and the difference in food quality, service, and decor was shocking. Paradise Island was nowhere near that level — the service here truly needs improvement. Also the bathroom water smelled terrible. Like the water from the pipes including the shower, sink, etc smelled like fish or something rotten.

The interior staff in the dining areas, housekeeping, check in check out, bars were superb. The pool area was terrible. There wasn’t any supervision noisy. The bartenders are drinking. They were smoking pot all over the lifeguards the bartenders it was horrible. We’ve been to Ríos before, and this is far of the worst
