I was drawn to this hotel by the beautiful seaside views in the photos and booked a night for a special birthday trip, despite the high price of around $480. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. There was no parking on-site — we had to rely on valet parking and pay extra. Breakfast was not included, and if you wanted it, you had to arrange and pay for it the night before. The water pressure in the shower was so low it was barely usable, and the check-in process was confusing and unpleasant. It took place at a small table next to the bar, with only one staff member who was quite rude when I asked for help. For the price, I expected much better service and amenities. Sadly, the stunning view was the only highlight of our stay.

Fabulous hotel

This hotel was spectacular. The staff were so nice and helpful. It’s a very cool retro type building with beautiful rooms, a quaint bar and restaurant. It’s right on the water and it was fun watching cargo ships go by. We sat by the fire pit after dinner. Our bed was comfortable and the in room amenities were very nice. We had a great breakfast before leaving. Try the yogurt and granola! I’d highly recommend this hotel.

Nice place; only drawback was we had some noisy neighbors and the soundproofing wasn’t perfect. Riverfront sauna barrels a nice idea in theory but slightly awkward in practice—first come first serve, a bit of a walk from the main hotel through the bar area, plus the view window steams up so you can’t see the river!

Disappointed by not honoring Gold status

While the hotel was nice, they did not honor my Gold status at all (free upgrade/late checkout when available. We upgraded for $50 per night and could have paid $25 for a one hour later checkout, so obviously they were available. They were very "down" on third party reservations when we checked in, so i guess that is part of it. But it was disappointing.

Spectacular setting and comfortable

The setting for this hotel is absolutely spectacular: right on the water's edge of the Columbia River, with the Astoria bridge nearby. We stayed in the top-floor Luxe Ice room, which had awesome views of the river in two sides, a modern bathroom with two-person walk-in shower and separate toilet. The bed was a bit lumpy for us, but a large king. Nice fireplace right in the room. The outdoor two-person saunas with views of the river through circular portholes, are a really nice touch. Some quibbles: room was a little dusty in places, and it is a bit overpriced, even for the excellent amenities

Property was nice. Checking in was not. Computer issues and no one keeping us advised and up to date. Had to go to desk several times even though we were sitting close by-not a good vibe when others were checking in and we were not. Tub in the room had a harsh edge to it on floor level. Very easy to trip over. Dogs barking below us was not very well received. Menu very limited. Coffee pretty much tasteless. A free breakfast should be included but was not. $15.00 valet parking was a bit much. They can do a lot better and they should. Service ok, room ok, parking not ok, menu really not ok. Just will go elsewhere for the money spent.
