Family room very clean, 2 toilets, 3 sinks. However no shower door/curtain. Yes you are allowed to throw bathroom tissue into toilet. Breakfast buffet is excellent, extensive options, gorgeous view of the Acropolis, Hotel staff all in uniform, helpful. Available 24/7. Nearby buildings had loud parties starting midnight to ~3 am, apparently not against the law. Front desk will try to help. Excellent location to main attractions but yet a bit away from busiest traffic. Athens taxi's can rip you off, to the tune of 20EUR for a ~ 6 EUR trip. Hotel can order a taxi for you, seems like always 10 EUR ( to nearby attractions) without using meter. This was shoulder season, end of March.

The Astor Hotel is a great place to lodge while visiting Athens. I traveled alone from the states and found the staff hospitable, hotel clean, bed comfortable, great location access to train, bus, sightseeing, walking etc., in the center of the active city, close to SYNTAGMA square, near an assortment of eateries and dining, nearby retail shopping, phenomenal roof top view and dining, amazing breakfast buffet, modern and cool bar and decor. Excellent! My only gripe is the half glass partition for the showers— not adequate room to shower without water getting everywhere and making the floor slippery and drenched. Nonetheless, it is a fantastic hotel! Loved it! 10/10

Very walkable location for all that matters to me: food, transportation, shopping, points of interest, and value for the accommodation quality. Beware hotel does not accept holding your luggage overnight so if you plan to stay there, check out to go out of town for a few days and bring only part of your luggage, then check in again, you will need to find a luggage storage facility.
