Disliked: Room comfort
No hot water for entire stay
On first impressions the accommodation seemed clean and comfortable. However, the sofa was wet when we arrived which we only found out by sitting on it. The kitchen facilities are not exactly as described as there is no double / dual hob and only a single induction plate, which does not work with the frying pan. The sponges and brushes for cleaning dishes were dirty. We then discovered there was no hot water. We called on multiple occasions and they eventually sent a handyman out, who claims to have fixed it, but there was still no hot water for 3 nights. The flat below was also affected.
The high traffic areas were clean, but skirtings and the inaccessible stairs were very dusty, which made the whole place feel grubby. The stairs were blocked by a stairgate leading to the downstairs apartment. The adjoining door seemed to be blocked by some sort of mattress, which meant you could hear everything going on in the apartment below. This wasn't great at 3am on the first night. We received a verbal apology about the hot water from Houst, but nothing from the host. It seems to be perfectly acceptable to the host that a family of 5 with children should have no access to hot water for the 3 day duration of the stay. Washing dishes, showering and hand washing all had to be done with cold water. Street parking is competitive and if you go out too late you wont get a close space. The only positive is the beds were clean and comfy.
