Stag's Hide
Stag’s Hide was formerly used by the gamekeeper of Kinrara Estate, and dates back to 1909. The tin roof is very much part of Scotland’s rural landscape which adds to the care of this humble abode. Standing on the front doorstep, absorb the views of the Cairngorm Mountain Range, natural woodland where deer graze & frolic and broods of pheasants nest and roam . It truly sets the mood for a back to nature experience. The cedar clad hot tub or perhaps the garden patio with BBQ are an ideal spot for soaking up the picturesque surroundings. Indoors, you can put your feet up and relax with the warm glow from the squirrel log burner. The interiors reflect a simple Scandi style which is both aesthetically pleasing and practical. Stag’s Hide has a calm feel through use of soft and natural textiles, in line with a slower pace of life. Although compact, the cosy cottage offers everything a family could need, including open-plan kitchen, dining/living area with Sonos speaker and Smart TV, luxury double bedrooms. You can reach the centre of Aviemore on foot (20 minutes) via road and track or by bike (10 minutes). Many paths and tracks can be accessed from the cottage doorstep.
Here at Lets Do Scotland, we provide luxurious accommodation in two locations - Tom's Lodge in Boat of Garten, Stag's Hide and The Roost in Aviemore. We are a small business who opened for business in 2020, owned by sisters Annabel and Colleen. We love to travel and over the years have been fortunate enough to stay in some beautiful properties. Aviemore is a well known and popular holiday destination with beautiful scenery and an abundance of things to do for all ages. There is a thriving local population and a welcoming atmosphere for all our visitors. Aviemore is a year round destination with snowsports being the popular winter activity and walking, climbing, biking, and a whole host of other activities the main summer draw. Aviemore is the active outdoor area of the Cairngorms National Park with activities suitable for all ages and abilities. The village is also a great base for families with lots of award winning attractions in the village and surrounding area. There are many annual events to look forward to and lots of smaller events on throughout the year. Aviemore has a great selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. The Cairngorms is a natural playground. The area offers watersports, snowsports some incredible walking, cycling routes and has 12 golf courses. It’s even home to the only sled dog centre, and the first permanent bridge-based bungee jump, in the UK. The National Park contains one quarter of Scotland’s native forest; one third of UK land above 600 metres; more breeding farmland Separated by the great bulk of the mountains, different areas of the Park have their own distinct identity and cultural traditions, but they share deep connections to the same environments. You can explore the past at our castles and other historical sites such as the open air Highland Folk Museum, but this culture of the area also lives on today in music, ceilidhs and the Gaelic place names of the Park. The Cairngorms National Park is home to one-quarter of Scotlands native forest; one-third of the UK land above 600 meters; more breeding waders than the whole of Wales and a quarter of the rare and endangered species in the UK!
