We really enjoyed our stay at Domaine Sacret in the charming village of Aÿ. The location was perfect for visiting nearby champagne houses. Our room was spacious, with a large updated bathroom that felt modern and comfortable. The ambiance of the property is elegant yet relaxed, with a mix of classic French country charm and contemporary touches. We got to enjoy their happy hour champagne tasting one evening, which was a great bonus. Breakfast was tasty and satisfying, and the staff was warm and welcoming. Just a heads up for future guests, there is no elevator, which was a bit of a challenge since we had a lot of luggage at this point in our trip. Overall, a lovely stay and a great base for exploring the region.
From greeting to departure we were made to feel special and extremely welcome. The facilities were beautiful, evening champagne tasting very welcome, breakfast very good.
What a great find! Very comfortable, spotlessly clean room, excellent hosts, champagne tasting every evening, quiet, secure parking. We hope to stay again
We booked this place at very short notice as just a stopover on our road journey from the Alps to Calais.
It look nice and the reviews were good with particular emphasis on cleanliness.
Its a very tricky place to find with quite a difficult access into a small courtyard parking area.
The 5pm to 7pm check-in makes your evening very rushed as there's a welcome glass of Champagne at 6pm, clearly something that you would miss by checking in at 7pm.
After a long days drive the whole check-in was not a nice experience when all you want is your room and a quick shower.
The room itself was lovely and with a good standard of cleanliness and large area.
We opted for the 75 euro for two evening welcome meal, not having the time to explore for a restaurant and very glad that we did.
It was a simple affair as stated, of cold meats and cheese with a selection of cakes and a bottle of champagne. All very nice and with extremely generous portions, so much so that we shared just one plate.
Its a lovely building and beautifully renovated but we just didn't feel welcome.
There's so many rules that you must do and things you must not do. Many are perfectly understandable and to be expected, but put to you in a very forcefull way verbally and with notices, quite unpleasant.
You get the impression that you should be very pleased that they've allowed you to stay at all!
Its potentially a great establishment but the team really does need a lesson or two in hospitality. Such a great pity.
Just fantastic. Only 4 rooms free champagne tasting at 6:00pm each night.
I the middle of town.
Let’s face it who doesn’t want to stay in a 104 year old champagne house. Just excellent
This is a quaint bed and breakfast in the region of champagne. The bed and breakfast is very cute and all the staff members are very friendly. They make their own champagne and offer a very nice champagne tasting for guests. The breakfast every morning and delicious and very fresh. The champagne region is spread out and this was in a quaint town about 30 minutes from Reims but very close to Épernay. We would stay here again if we ever are in the champagne region.
Our room was so lovely, and the wine tasting is a wonderful treat in the evening! The staff here is very accommodating and kind, and we could easily walk & bike around to explore the small town. Opt for the welcome meal, It was fantastic!
This was a wonderful place, and the women who ran it were delightful. They offered a champagne tasting every evening at 6!
My only criticism is that I wish the people in charge could have offered more options for champagne tasting and seeing the sights; their only suggestion was a half-day tour that started at 350 euros! They need to be able to give visitors more options for sightseeing and champagne tasting. We didn't have a car, and so we would have liked some kind of tour or guide.
But it was a beautiful place, and I really loved the evening champagne tasting on the lovely terrace.
Good location. There is a bus or train to Epernay but you can walk along the river in an hour and half. We spent 4 nights here. I would recommend the platter on your first night with a bottle of champagne. Restaurants in Ay are limited. We walked to Epernay and tasted champagne with food when available. Then spent a day in Ay. The museum of champagne is worth a visit as us the tour of Ayala. This needs to be prebooked. Breakfast was great each day. Lovely rooms and very clean.
everything is good, the receptionist was super nice but difficult to communicate with English. No one speak English there. The checking time is 5 to 7pm was not convenient. We arrived a little early around 3pm a lady who live at right side of front main door was very rude, I guess she is a tenant of the property not hotel staff.
Check in is between 5 and 7 pm so plan accordingly. Once checked in, we had a convenient parking spot and a remote to get in and out of the property. We had a very large room that was tastefully decorated. Heating was ample and the bed was comfortable. It is located 10 minutes from Epernay where many champagne houses are located including Moet and Chandon. Our hostess was very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed tasting as part of our stay.
A warm welcome from a friendly family-run Chambre D’Hôtes in the centre of Ay. Breakfast was delicious, the beds were comfy and the champagne tasting on arrival was a delightful surprise.
We Arrived precisely at 5 pm which is the only time this Property opens for check-in. We were not aware of this details and had tried to check in earlier at 3 pm. We were greeted by Odelie and shown to our room. Everything was completely in order.
Champagne Chamber d’hotes is a hidden gem. It’s off the beaten path but oh so worth it to stay. Our hostess was extremely accommodating with dinner recommendations; etc. Our breakfast was incredible. It’s a very safe and very neat place to stay.
From far, one of the best hotel I have stayed. The location is perfect to explore the various areas of Champagne. The room are spacious and have great view. The hotel is perfect for a pitoresque trip. The owner is amazing, will give you great tips of the areas, not to mention the many laugh we had during coffee in the morning or during the apéro on the terrasse. Definitely going back !
