Well-lit, safe. Room had all we needed; bring your own hair dryer if you need one. Everyone was very kind. Food in the restaurant was good, prices were great.
Stayed there 2 nights. Room was quiet even though it was on a major road and there was truck traffic. There was NO deadbolt or door chain. Furniture was too big for the small room and was in poor shape. Dresser was not fully accessible due to oversized chairs. The available electric outlets had seen lots of action over time as the plugs would not stay in and often fell out. No Coffee pot in the room. Coffee was only available at the office/store/casino. Wifi was ok.
We stayed two nights while visiting Great Basin National Park. Hotel is older, clean, quiet, staff are nice and great location for the park. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would use hotel in the future.

The staff was attentive and kind. We need it was not 4 o 5 star because we have stayed there many times before. But met our needs out in remote area of Nevada and made our r reunion here so nice. Cafe breakfast reasonable and great price. Good taste. Staying another nights gut now due to inoperable car.

The Border Inn is truly on the border of Nevada and Utah. The welcome sign for Utah is in the parking lot. When we checked in, it was in the store/kitchen which was connected to the casino. The smell of cigarettes was so overwhelming. The restaurant was connected to the casino by an open door. No way we could eat in there. We ordered our food and ate it on our bed (no other place to eat) in our very strong pinesol smelling room. Our room was clean, minus a few ants in the bathroom and the staff were very friendly. The Border Inn is the only option for a place to stay if you have been in Great Basin National Park unless you want to drive for hours.
Driving from the Bay Area to Vail Valley Colorado this is a good option for the first day's drive. The next day gets you to Colorado by mid afternoon.

Disliked: Cleanliness
The room needed a good cleaning , paint the walls and outdated cabinets, mop those floors good . No blinds on the windows, curtains too small to cover the windows !
Lighting in the room was poor. Needs improvement. Key to the door was very hard to use. After I opened door to room could not get key out. Had to have a staff person come and remove it. They even had trouble removing it.
The man at the desk was rude. This hotel was literally in the middle of nowhere, about 10 miles from Baker, which wasn’t made clear online. I had to answer some questions about paying for damages done to property, the door/lock/key worked poorly, no deadbolt or chain, the shower dripped loudly all night and the AC was very loud. Worst of all it had NO TV!!!! I’m surprised Expedia would list such a place!!
Room was clean. Table had two chairs. Nice towels. Friendly staff. No hair dryer, no Kleenex, no drinking glasses, only one wash cloth. Fixtures and furniture are old.
Property seems older but we enjoyed our stay. Super close to the national park made this really convenient. Not a lot of restaurants in the area, the hotel had a diner attached which had decent food. All staff was really friendly. I was hesitant to book based on other reviews, but we enjoyed our stay and would stay again if visiting the Great Basin National park

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Old, dated conditions! Need total upgrading for exterior as well as interior conditions. IT WAS SUFFICIENT: GOOD MATTRESS!
There was a gap under the door big enough for a rat to get under, two out of four lights did not work, no kleenex, no hair dryer and metal bed frames that looked like they came from a prison
