We loved it here!! The sunsets were absolutely stunning. The owner was super nice and if we had any questions or needed anything a staff member was there quickly to help. The villa had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We rented a 2x4 car and was able to get there, you just have to give it some gas in a couple of places. Highly recommend staying here.

Although the location is a little out of the way, about 5km up the mountain on a rocky road, the view was amazing! Rooms were clean and employees were helpful! We had a little trouble with the ac but they were very attentive and brought fans right away until we got it squared away. They also helped with activity recommendations and bookings. We had in room massages that were awesome!

Fabulous location and (mostly) fabulous villa, lovingly decorated with fun, little holiday decorations . What a view! The indoor kitchen and living areas were adequately supplied with everything we needed to live comfortably. We also really enjoyed the outdoor living areas - - the pool setting, comfy chairs, covered porch area with a really nice grill and - -bonus - - outdoor grassy play area complete with a trampoline!!! While the Quetzal villa was delightful, it did have a couple issues that we noticed and reported to management. They were immediately responsive but were unable to resolve the issues while we were there. (1. sewer gas smell in bathrooms - - we solved by covering sink and shower drain pipes and 2. AC in Master BR made clicking sound which they said is normal and we eventually got used to it.). We would definitely stay here again - - and will probably ask for this unit if we make it back to Canavida in the future.

Our favourite stay while in Costa Rica. The villa was absolutely wonderful. We had everything we needed and more. We had an amazing panoramic view with lots of wildlife. I already miss my morning coffee on the patio with the amazing view and nature sounds.

Las villas son hermosas, las vistas impresionantes! Nos encantó. Lo único que quisiera resaltar es que si os quedáis en villa oropendola, tener mucho cuidado si tenéis niños chicos. Para llegar a las villas también es un poco complicado. Es necesario tener vehículo todo terreno. Aparte de eso, todo estuvo genial. Muchas gracias!

Love this property! This is our second time staying here and highly recommend. The property has amazing views, the rooms/villa are all new and well appointed with all you may need. I recommend a 4x4 as it is up the hill but the drive is well worth it. Communication is always amazing.

Spacious Villa with Stunning Sunset Views

Our stay at the villa was excellent. The villa was very spacious with large, comfortable rooms. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the pool was well-maintained and beautifully lit even at night. Communication with the hosts was excellent! One drawback – the villa is located on a slope, which on the one hand offers a stunning view of the sunset and the ocean, but on the other hand can be a bit unsafe for small children. ⸻

Absolutely amazing location with stunning views. The property is new, well maintained, clean and has everything to need for your stay. We stayed in the Tucan villa, the pool was perfect and the covered deck was great on warm rainy days. The staff was super friendly and easy to connect with through What’sApp. Uvita beach is a short drive away, lots of good restaurants nearby. We stayed 12 nights and didn’t want to leave! We will definitely come back here if in Costa Rica again.

We stayed for 8 nights in the Caracara house. It had everything we needed and had a great stay! Alberto and all the staff were helpful, friendly and amazing. The views were breath taking. We stayed in June 2025, during the rainy season and were so thankful we rented a 4wheel drive vehicle. We explored a lot and had a blast!

Simply amazing

An INCREDIBLE time at Canavida. The area is stunning. The team that runs the resort is fabulous. We stayed at Casa Oropendola. The view of the Pacific was INCREDIBLE. As was the wildlife. The whale tail beach (and national park) is just down the hill and it's amazing. Playa Hermosa is also great (and has lifeguards). Loved the local waterfalls too (just a short drive away). I suggest renting a 4x4. It will make the drive easier. Lots of options for groceries at the bottom of the hill. We stayed for 6 nights and could have happily stayed even longer. FYI, Uvita is used to tourists so you can get around with little/no Spanish.

Beautifully furnished and comfortable condo nestled in a jungle setting overlooking the ocean. Sparkling clean infinity pool, full kitchen, BBQ pit on back patio, excellent service from host and staff. The 5k maintained rock road to get there from main hwy is a bit of a rough drive but well worth it. This was our 5th trip to Costa Rica and we have stayed at many wonderful places- but none as amazing as CanaVida. Only stayed 2 nights- wish we had stayed 2 weeks!

The property is amazing! I have been traveling to Costa Rica since 1990 and I can tell you Canavida is one of the best values ever. From the initial communication and through the entire stay I was impressed. The condo we stayed at was perfect. Clean, well appointed, ocean views right out the back sliding glass doors, etc. I could go on. This is 100% a place I would highly recommend when in the Dominical/Uvita area. Just make sure to get a 4x4 to make access to the property as it is up the hill a little but do not let that discourage you. It is more than worth it.
