We had a renovated room with a mountain view which was very nice. The cleaning staff were also very good. However this is NOT a hotel as there is no bar or restaurant. That didnt particularly bother us as Banff is awash with them. We took a bit of time to reserch a hotel and wanted one with a pool, which has now been closed for months. If we had known this before booking we would not have booked. Its a bit of a liberty to still charge the full tariff, but the hotel wasnt interedted in compensating us. The offer of using the pool in the sister hotel was more like a big bath, no way vould you be able to actually swim in it. Banff is expensive so we chose this hotel as it was a bit cheaper, but without the pool it was a bit disapointing.

It was okay

The hotel was just okay overall, but it definitely shows its age. The building and facilities are quite dated, and that was noticeable throughout our stay. The service was decent, although one of the front desk staff in the evening came across as a bit rude at first. Not a huge issue, but it did affect the first impression. Our first room was very disappointing. It was hot, had no natural light, and we had to keep the lamps on even during the day. We asked to be moved and were thankfully given a better room on the second floor, which made the rest of the stay more comfortable. I would recommend this place only for a short stay, maybe one or two nights. For anything longer, I’d suggest looking at other options, especially considering the price.

This place was fine. If youre just looking for a decent bed to stay in while you focus on your other activities, this place will do. Decent room, firm but tolerable king bed, nice bathroom, it did the job. Was not super pleased that parking was not included (15 bucks a day), and the pillows were so hard! We didnt mind the pool being closed (which WAS disclosed upon booking). Honestly, a no thrills kind of place that provided a place to stay. It did its job.
