Central Location & 1 mile to Hawksnest. Our Game Room has a Pool Table & Game Table, along with a large sofa & 55" TV. Our Main Floor Living Room offers an additional large sofa & 55" TV.

Wonderful home and location. This had everything we needed for a last minute family mountain getaway. We will be back and bring friends. Downstairs game room and bunk room is a perfect spot for entertaining kids, beautiful views, lovely outdoor spaces, porches, fire area and hot tub are perfect for the adults. Quiet mountain neighborhood with direct mountain (Grandfather) views and still great proximity to all of our activities (Boone, Banner Elk/Sugar, Grandfather, Valle Crucis, Otter Creek Falls-very close for a quick easy hike). We spent as much time in relaxing in the house as we did adventuring. Host was so hospitable and communicative before and during our stay! All information we needed about the home, checkin/check out or area were answered before we could ask the question! Book this listing, you won’t regret it!!!

We very much enjoyed our stay @wishyouwerehere cabin. The cabin worked perfectly for our family. We travelled with 5 adults (two married couples, one single), our two children and two pups. As a family we go on an annual ski trip. When looking for a cabin everyone gives their wish list; hot tub, fireplace, gameroom, near skiing, view, dog friendly and enough beds. This house did not disappoint! Checked all the boxes!! Most homes have just bare essentials but this cabin had plenty of supplies to cook and clean. Comfortable beds! Instructions how to use everything. Even things for the pups. We loved the easy functioning gas fireplaces. The open concept on the main floor worked great for cooking, eating, lounging and a panoramic breathing taking mountain. My kids raved about the hot tub!! It was hot and ready at arrival. We took advantage of Otter Falls which was a mile away, Hawksnest tubing and the winery! This year we drove further to ski to Beech Mtn. which was about 30 mins and Sugar was less than 10 mins. Our hosts were amazing and extremely easy to communicate with during our stay. No doubt they love their cabin and want to share a piece of their heaven on earth with others.Thank you again Ruthie. Please accept my apology in not writing this review sooner. Thank you again for sharing your home with our family!

We had an amazing Thanksgiving in this home. The kids loved having the downstairs to themselves and playing the arcade game and pool or their video games on the couch. The adults had the top two floors to themselves. We chilled by the fire, watched amazing sunrise with an incredible view of Grandfather mountain from our balcony. The hot tub was perfect! The fireplace was toasty and cozy while we watched the Macys day parade. House is perfect location close to so many things to do. We were able to do down town Boone, blowing rock, antique market, coffee shops, alpine coaster and banner elk, tweetsie Christmas train…..the list goes on! Host was outstanding! So informative and responsive. Made our stay even better. Hostess/host went above and beyond what the usual host/hostess does on here. Wish more were like this!

We loved the house and what it had to offer. Great location. We were a little bummed that the hot tub wasn’t turned on when we got there the first day, therefore we couldn’t use it until the next day after it had warmed up. However overall, it was a great stay. Ruth was very attentive with her communication. We enjoyed all the games as well.

Our host was very responsive and accommodating when we had some issues with the fireplace. The views are indeed amazing. It is an extremely steep drive, so be prepared and take seriously the requirement for chains on your tires in winter. We had everything we needed on the main floor which worked since one of us can't do stairs. My favorite part was my pups being able to safely run around on the gated deck.

We absolutely loved our weekend getaway at Ruth’s place! Cleanliness was top notch. Host communication was great and Ruth provides lots of information prior to arrival and on property. location is perfectly located between several towns with lots to do. Downstairs game room was perfect for the kids to play. Lots of wildlife on property, was really cool to see.The hike to Beaver falls was a 1 min drive and pretty easy for anyone without mobility issues.

The house was awesome. Spacious and clean. If you fill it up, it's pretty cheap considering the amenities. The game room downstairs is great, between the pool table and the PacMan game and the hot tub is great too. Ruthie, our host, was always quick to respond to any questions. The check in process was super easy and the house was easy to get to, with ample parking. All in all, a great stay.

Great location and beautiful home

Our family had a lovely stay here and would DEFINITELY stay here again! The location is perfect between Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, and Boone. The house is exactly like the photos. The view is beautiful. The owners were quickly responsive with any question i asked whether it was about groceries stores or best gem mining location. We made s'mores in their fire pit, relaxed in the hot tub, played Pac-Man (which I loved so much and watching my 3 & 6 year old try it too), hiked Otter Falls which was so close to the house, and got to see deer right outside. I will definitely be booking this place next summer for another lovely vacation away from the Florida heat.

Great place

We had a fantastic stay! The house was very clean, in a great location, and the owners were incredibly helpful and welcoming. They provided clear directions, checked in on us, and made sure we had everything we needed. The layout worked perfectly for our two families — one set of parents on the top floor, another on the main, and the kids had their own space downstairs. It was well stocked with everything we needed and made our trip super comfortable and easy. Highly recommend!

Mountain Air and views

A wonderful place with lots of space and beautiful views. Communication was excellent, and the house had everything we needed. We preordered groceries to be delivered when we arrived and it was perfect!! We spent a few fantastic days with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. While walking around the area, we encountered deer, lighting bugs, beautiful flowers, trees and more!!

Wonderful stay!

The home was clean, welcoming, well stocked, and very straight forward with how to use and work everything. The host was extremely helpful and super easy to reach. My only complaint is really minimal - it rained a good bit during out trip and the porches are not rain proof. HOWEVER - the hot tub/grill/outdoor space is rain proof. Otherwise fantastic!

Great views, Better Accommodations!

This was a great place to stay! We have stayed at a number of locations and this one literally has it all! The kitchen was stocked great, the house has everything you need to relax (hot tub, great porches with views, etc) and for the kids to enjoy as well (games - board games, video games, pool, and more). The owners were also great about communication. Always available for any questions.The beds were comfortable and the rooms were large. Having two living rooms was another added bonus. The only downside was the stay wasn't long enough, but they never are. Would totally recommend for one or two families - great place to stay and great owners!

Perfect Mountain Get Away!

This house was the perfect fit for our weekend get away. My family, brother’s family which had smaller children and our mom stayed here for the weekend. The house is perfectly set up to accommodate our teenage children and well as the toddlers. I can’t speak enough about the views! Breathtaking and the home is set up on all levels to soak in the sights! From the porch swing, to the rocking chairs and outside dining! This house was enjoyable from the inside game room that was perfect for all ages as well as the outside areas that had a fire pit and hot tub! House was very clean and had everything we needed! We will definitely rent this location again!

Wonderful Getaway

We were looking for somewhere for the young adult worship team to bond and this was the perfect location. The layout of the home is great with the game room and outdoor accommodations plus the bedrooms were very clean and very comfortable, The host was so easy to get in contact with and they helped with any and all questions in an impeccable manner. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Best VRBO Ever Stayed At

I would give this place 10 stars if it would let me. To start the host is great and really truly cares about you having the best stay possible. The home is exactly as advertised if not even better. Everything is stocked amazingly from the games, books, baby items to every kitchen utensils/tool you could possible want or need and then some. The views and sunrises were breathtaking and something we will cherish. The hot tub made an amazing home even better with being able to relax and take in the views. We are already planning our trip back to this home next year.

Amazing stay!

We were so happy with our stay here! The amenities were wonderful, and the cabin provided almost everything we could’ve needed. There was lots of space to spread out, which worked great as two couples with little babies. The view of the mountains was excellent. The kitchen is well stocked (no need to bring salt and pepper!). Plenty of seating in the dining area, good blankets available, and lots of games in the basement. Location was convenient to Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, and other towns. This cabin is really close to Grandfather Mtn and the trails too. The host was very communicative throughout the stay and very helpful. Hot tub was a fun item too! We’ll be back.

Amazing

What an incredible place to stay, 5 star all the way. Multiple spaces that will entertain a whole family, cosy, efficient, super clean. We were able to enjoy Blowing Rock, Boone close location and even went to Sugar mountain. Pool table and Pac man video was a hit for the adults, entertaining for sure. Fully stocked kitchen and coffee to sit and enjoy incredible views of Grandfather mountain. Will return for sure.
