The room was out of date. The bathroom walls had holes, the tub was painted and the parking lot never got plowed. It snowed so much and yet no one took care of the parking lot or walk way. To have a room with parking lot access defeats the purpose when your snowed in from using that entrance.

Hotel was loud as there were multiple hockey teams staying. Calls to the front desk went unanswered. When someone was finally reached we were told unless they saw the kids running through the halls and knocking on all the doors there was nothing they could do. Hockey nets were set up in the halls, kids were playing and blocking the way out for the other guests. Room was ok, the bathroom was in poor condition. Spigot in tub was loose on the wall, shower head was heavily calcified and only a few of the nozzle points worked.

Bed sheets were stained with what looked like blood. Replacement bedding had hair in them. The check in staff had a bit of an attitude staring at the computer while I was waiting there.

Although the customer service at the front desk was lovely, the rooms leave a lot to be desired. From the hallways to the rooms, the finishes are very tired and in need of a refresh and good clean. After seeing signs of a lack of cleanliness, such as the dried, shampoo-caked dispenser and mildew around the tub caulking, I didn't trust that the room was actually cleaned properly so I slept with clean towels covering the pillows and made sure to keep luggage and personal effects on hard surfaces, and I did not use the shower. There is also a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the hallways and rooms, though smoking is not allowed (likely old smoke living in the walls and fabrics). Disappointing but this seems to be what you get for less than $150 in Barrie these days. I also noticed a pattern that Expedia ratings vary greatly from Google ones. An 8/10 rating on Expedia is equivalent to a 3/5 on Google (so more like a 6/10). Based on my experience, the google reviews better describe this hotel. Something to consider.

We had booked for 2 nights for a hockey tournament. A few days before arriving we tried to cancel the second night as plans had changed. Expedia reached out to the hotel multiple times. I was told to wait up to 72 hours which then put us past the cancellation window. After 4 days we were told no and therefore lost all of our money for the second night. The hotel lobby was falling apart. Tables peeling, no chairs etc, damp mop smell. The rooms were no better. Wallpaper peeling, damp smell. We asked for extra pillows and were told there was none. Extremely disappointing all around.

Asked for my sink to be unclogged 5 minutes after check in plus 3 more time and nobody came no handicap parking plus it wasn’t even plowed and I waited an hour and 15 minutes to get breakfast after being told the hours had change from 6-10 to 6-9 and they didn’t even have yogurt

The check-in was very slow. There were a lot of sports teams checking in and only one person at the counter. No elevators so you must take your stuff up. A narrow hallway to the second floor. Room is outdated and looks neglected. It was clean somewhat despite the peeling moldy surroundings. Bed was lumpy. Shower curtain stained Brown at the bottom. Highlight was a larger than normal in-room fridge. Walls and door are paper thin. Could hear children running up and down the halls. Pool was nice. Hot tub look dirty with an excessive amount of foam. Breakfast in the hotel. Lobby in the morning was okay, but set in a small alcove that couldn't accommodate the large group of people that were trying to get food. The lobby itself had a odd smell to it almost fishy.
