Very good

Especially in Bath, hotels are very expensive. This hotel was significantly cheaper. Even compared to the (proper) Bailbrook hotel (which will be nicer), I would definitely say it's worth saving the money and come here.
It's somewhat dated (I haven't seen a Corby trouser press before, I thought it was a myth!), but for the cash you get a nice bathroom, tea/coffee facilities and a comfy bed. What more do you want for half the price of a 4 star or a Travelodge?
On top of this, you get free parking (although it is limited), and therefore easily outweighs and negatives.
The only thing I would say is that they really need to modernise the bathroom, the shower was awful in term of pressure and was either too hot or not hot enough at times.
Only thing against was that the reading lights beside the bed were not bright enough to read by.
It is a long way from the centre of Bath on foot and that should be pointed out to guests who can catch a bus or find a taxi. ("near the M4 roundabout " would be useful directions).
The manager provided exceptional service - and this was for a facility that was offering a code to self-serve your check-in. We were advised about bus routes into Bath (there is a congestion toll for drivers) which were very close by, the breakfast was very well priced with excellent service provided, we were allowed to leave our car after checkout until the afternoon, the road is a little busy for walking but the room was quiet and spacious.

Situated out of Bath city centre close to Bathampton and high has a beautiful gastropub. Property a little tired from the outside due to its age. Lovely superior room, four poster bed, spotlessly clean, white sheets and thick towels. Carpet threadbare near the window but didn’t detract from the cleanliness. Shower head could do with descaling. Adequate continental breakfast and owners very pleasant.
Cheap but not cheap enough. You can accept the property is dated and run down for the price but it is really not very nice. The WiFi simply doesn’t work, carpets and furniture is threadbare. You can get so much better for not a lot more. Won’t be staying again
It was exactly what I expected for the price I paid for. The Lodge keeps it style it's not aodern building but it's well conserved and renovated. We had a great couple of nights. We came from London to Bath for the first time and we loved it.
Only 1 suggestion.. Coming back in the evening I was a bit worried walking with my dáughter towards the Lodge Front door. It's really dark. Make it brighter would definitely make it all better. Thank you !
It was my worst experience with a hotel ever. First thing I noticed when we arrived is that everything in this hotel was extremely old and the hotel had an overall atmosphere of a hunted house from a movie. When we checked in we were given a dirty room with stains and dust everywhere + pee stains on the toilet (simply disgusting). When we tried to boil some water we noticed that a kettle had mold inside of it. When I sat on the bed I realised that it was lumpy as well. We asked a receptionist to change a room, on which he replied that there wouldn’t be much difference because all rooms are the same (dirty and old I assume). He advised that they understand our concerns and would reimburse what we paid if we chose to leave. Since we arrived quite late I decided to stay for that night, just shower and go to bed, and leave the next day (it was booked for 2 days). However, the cherry on top was the fact that didn’t have any hot water (when you switch to hot, water just stops). I could not believe it, this is literally a bare minimum. I told the receptionist that I will not stay in this conditions and asked if he would process a refund. He promised me that I will receive it in a couple of days. I left basically in the middle of the night to go look for another hotel. Needless to say, that they never provided me with any promised refund and hotels.com was not able to help me either.

Nice room , clean, nice view fro the widow , it was fine !
Booked for a girls night away to visit the spa in Bath & visit xmas markets.
I can only describe the lodge as in desperate need of a referb, it was like stepping back in time.
The room was twin but the beds were sunk in the middle & looked like they were from the 80s. You could see the line across the wall where an old double bed was previously. The wallpaper was peeling off & a water stain apparent across the ceiling from a previous leak. Drafty window which was kept at bay by the shutters & curtains but i suspect if going in icy conditions then the room would be cold. The carpet was dirty & stained. The bathroom was mouldy & we chose not to shower because we both felt cleaner by not doing so, the whole bathroom needed gutting.
The place has got a 2* overall for the basic but nice enough continental breakfast.
Both staff we dealt with were lovely.
The cost was £121 which for the state of the place is ludicrous to be honest. It could be lovely but needs a lot of money spending on it to bring it up to standard.

Comfortable and Friendly
This was a convenient hotel about 10 minutes by taxi from the city centre. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and our room was spacious with good amenities. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower although a bit cramped was powerful. It was lovely that you were provided with a fob to gain access to the hotel outside of operating hours. Although the hotel may be in need of an update, our state was pleasant and comfortable.
Apart from the duty manager (who for some reason says he’s worked at the Hotel for a few years … why !) who was polite and at least apologetic, the Bailbrook lodge which has massive potential has been let down by underinvestment. We had room 9 in the dungeon (basement) - TV ariel connection broken (was fixed but why in that state in the first place) , Toilet needed strongman strength to repeatedly flush to get water to do its thing. But the shower room was so grubby and dirty - no one heard of bleach or steam cleaners ? Hotel breakfast was not one to take up after hearing it was continental only. Such a shame we stayed here before COVID when it wasn’t an OYO and was great. Save yourselves and book the Bailbrook House next door instead. Only redeeming features is its location to Bath and bus stops.
