The best things about this property were the location, the “classic” harbour view from my room, and the front desk staff (they were so kind and helpful)… But, everything else needs help. The cleaning staff were not at all thorough, the property seems to be in dis-repair and needing some serious TLC, the lobby restaurant area feels abandon, the hallways were dirty, no closet to hang cloths or safe for valuables in the room, no phone, the coffee maker did not work, and was never re-supplied by the room staff, the shower is wide open to the bathroom and floods the floor with each use, and the list goes on…If it wasn’t for the view and the front desk staff I’d have left after the first night. There are many better alternatives - do your homework.

Had it not been for the issues with cards accessing the room, i would have rated higher. We were there for 3 nights and had issues, reception said they were updating their system hence issues. Our entry card had to be reprogrammed daily. So not good...otherwise rooms were excellent, breakfast was really good and located was close to everything.

We wasnt advised that we needed to book in advance for the restaurant and we didnt find the staff very accommodating ,I looked at the menu a couple of weeks before and a dish that my son would eat was not available and was told it was an old menu they was no effort to help with alternative and we had to find some were else to eat which was very disappointing.

We stayed at Magic Hotel in Bergen and overall had a very good experience. The location is excellent — right by the harbour and the shopping district, and only about a 12-minute walk to Bergen train station, which was perfect for us when we did the Norway in a Nutshell tour. Our room was up on the top floor ("in the gods," as it felt!). It was comfortable and fine for our stay, though I had requested a view and unfortunately didn’t get one. Tea and coffee weren’t provided in the room, but facilities were available at reception, which was a useful alternative. One small concern was around the fire evacuation procedures. A fire alarm did go off during our stay, and while it turned out not to be serious, the communication about what was happening could have been clearer. That said, the hotel suited our needs very well, and with its convenient location, I’d recommend it to others visiting Bergen.

Great location and big room. Reception staff very friendly and professional but a few issues - the heating system has issues in some rooms and we were told they couldn't turn it off when it was loud. They did offer to move us but it was for a night in a small room then move next day so we accepted a fan instead. My husband searched the heating system online and managed to change a setting to make it quiet. The cleaners changed the towels and shower gel etc but never the coffee or cups even when we told reception

Breakfast was excellent. But the service was disappointing because the shampoo and body wash were so low quality. The towels ware not soft and the sink was stuck. I really do loved bed and pillows. The view was beautiful and at the last minute i.e. 4 minutes after checkout time, I was closing my luggage to come out but someone suddenly entered the room for cleaning, without knocking the door, which was a bit uncomfortable situation. The people who were working in the hotel were so welcoming and nice.

This hotel is ideally located to walk (or e-scooter) around the centre of Bergen. Good sized room for my wife, me and our 15yr old son on a temporary bed. Bathroom and shower v nice. The breakfast was extremely good and varied (very busy at around 9am though). Happily stay here again and would recommend. If you are driving around Norway, parking is discounted at a nearby car park (10 min walk).

The location is very convenient, close to main attractions. The temperature of the room was too hot, they even decided to put a fan in the room trying to lower it but it did not help. One of the most unconfortable rooms and bathroom we have been in.

Great hotel for an adventure in Bergen

Great location. Great breakfast. Comfortable bed and lots of space. Only problem was that the air conditioning was not working on the whole floor a d the room was too hot.
