Very good

Lovely old hall where the restaurants and some rooms are. We were in an annexe which was an old building but new inside. Room was very comfortable. Food was excellent in the bar.
Supreme customer service. Emma at reception was so helpful! I had a room above the kitchen and couldn’t sleep because of the vibration. She had no problem changing to a quieter room and I had a wonderful, quiet night.
Had a lovely, quiet stay here for a night on a business trip. Good breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable bed and good facilities.

Rip off
Breakfast paid for in advance and only started serving at 8am. Asked for a refund as needed to checkout at 7.30am. They claimed nothing they could do and suggested i contact hotels.com and theyd sort it via them. Hotels.com apparently tried and failed to contact the hotel so couldn't give a refund. Total rip off
Whilst the room has been recently renovated, it clearly hasn’t been checked afterwards. Very small room, shower tiny and the poorly positioned shower head means you hit the cubicle when showering. When I wanted to check out nobody was on reception and nobody answered the phone for the number displayed.
The hotel was absolutely beautiful with all the historical features respected. Food was delicious. Staff were polite and helpful.
My room was in the converted coach house.
A lot of thought and detail put into the rooms with comfy sofa and comfy bed. Modern ensuite

Lovely stay with family & dog
Nice hotel. Bit tired in places but adds to the character of this period building. Everything was immaculate in the bedroom. We stayed in a family room with a large dog, it was very spacious. The hotel is in nice grounds, again a bit tired looking but lovely to sit in when weather is nice. Breakfast was lovely, service great and staff very friendly and helpful. If taking a dog, the nature trail next door is a lovely walk. Lovely cafe in the gardens that caters for dogs too.
We loved the drive into the property, easy to park and a short walk to reception, all the staff we met were polite and helpful, they even provided numbers for local taxis. The room we had offered loads of space and was of a high standard.
If ever we were to return to Birmingham this hotel would be on the top of my list...
A fabulous building, sympathetically converted to a hotel, it’s listed so that no doubt brings challenges. Our rooms were lovely but one of us had a loo that didn’t flush, maintenance did come out but couldn’t fix over night. Other than that great stay will use again.
Liked the uniqueness of the property. The staff was amazing and they have a nice bar and restaurant that serves excellent food.
It was very hot weather during our stay and the front desk was so accommodating in helping us have a cooler room.
The grounds are inviting and there was enough to do meandering around the garden finding nice places in the shade.
A very enjoyable stay.
