This property is absolutely stunning. The hot tub was heated using the geothermal water from the region, making it perfectly hot, even on cold winter nights. The rooms were spacious and the living room’s large windows brought the gorgeous scenery in. We could watch the northern lights from right outside the house. Perfectly spectacular place!

The house has everything one needs to enjoy a relaxed vacation close to the Golden Circle. The house includes a fully functional kitchen; full laundry facilities; sauna & hot tub; four separate bedrooms; and beautiful views. The house is close to the village of Laugarvatn which has numerous lunch/dinner options. I would recommend the Lakefront Villa for 2-3 couples or an extended family.

The ultimate home for your Iceland experience

Every single thing about this home was perfection for our group of 8. We were so comfortable and plenty of space for all. The host was kind and answered all of my questions ahead of our travel so I could get the most out of our vacation. You MUST stay here, it is a wonderful experience for your vacation. We hope to have the opportunity to visit again and stay at this beautiful private home.

Beautiful home and property on Lake Apavatn. Excellent place to view the Aurora which we were fortunate enough to see two nights. We were on the go much of the time so we were unable to take complete advantage of all the amenities.

Excellent Iceland Vacation

We had a fantastic time staying at this Lakefront Villa in Iceland. Plenty of room for family of 5 (5 adults). Property was immaculate with high end furnishings, appliances, beds, etc. throughout. Location was right on the lake and extremely quiet and peaceful, yet very accessible to Golden Circle activities. Would definitely recommend!

Much better than advertised

Our stay at Austery Lakefront was everything we could hope for and then some. The pictures don’t do the house or the property justice. Everything we needed, including coffee and coffee making choices, was provided. And the serenity is unrivalled. Sitting in the hot tub after a hike in Laugarvatn, looking out over the lake with the northern lights above us. How can you match that! And our hosts were accommodating in every way we could hope for.

Incredible home!

This home is in the middle of nowhere, and is so beautiful! It’s so well stocked with games, puzzles,karaoke machine, kitchen equipment, not to mention the hot tub, sauna, and kayaks. (Which we tried to use but the lake was too shallow.) There were 7 of us, and the 4 bedrooms were perfect!! Our granddaughters loved their cozy twin bed room. The view was beautiful - right on the lake - and we had plenty to do on one windy and rainy day. The other days we were sightseeing. It was well situated to see the Geysir and Gullfoss falls. (I think that’s the one! Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it!!!

Amazing

This was the most incredible home we have ever stayed in. The house is immaculate, has provisions, and is well stocked with spices, pantry items, games, and outdoor entertainment like fishing poles and kayaks. The property is breathtakingly beautiful, and we didn’t hear a person or car the entire time we were there. It felt like we were missing out on relaxing in luxury when we left to go explore!

Secluded house in beautiful location

What a wonderful house. The house sits beside a lake with panoramic views of mountains and water. Centrally located to many attractions on the Golden Circle. Very comfortable beds and the house is well appointed with a large kitchen/living space and deck. So relaxing to go back to after a day of seeing sites. Magndis and Larus were excellent hosts, making sure we were prepared for our visit and giving suggestions about what groceries to bring and what to see. Larus met us upon check-in at a convenient spot and led us to the house. He gave us a house tour, pointing out the sauna, hot tub, fishing equipment and life jackets, kayaks, washer/dryer and wifi. The kids had fun in the hot tub and kayaking (very shallow water). Fantastic!
