Very clean and tidy, staff polite and attentive. Attention to finer detail carpet stains and dirty chairs could sorted, as a 4 star hotel. Would stay again as overall great experience.

Room was compact but had everything we needed for a 1 night stay. The bed was 2 singles zipped together but as there wasn't a mattress topper over the two singles, there was a dip in the middle of the bed. The bathroom was excellent. The bar was disappointing - cold and uncomfortable with limited seating options. Staff did not welcome us or acknowledge us as we stood at the bar for 15 mins waiting to order (the only the couple waiting walked out). Once we were finally asked what we wanted to drink, it took a further 35 mins to receive it. Breakfast was superb. Staff were efficient, attentive and friendly. The selection was extensive and quality of food excellent.

Excellent in every way. Nice rooms, spacious, made up of three cells. Wonderful bathroom with bath and separate shower. Amazing breakfast that was included. Plenty of character. Free parking. My girlfriend says room slightly dusty but I didn’t notice. A coffee machine would have been nice (rather than instant coffee). Highly recommended.

The hotel is amazing in so many ways. The history of the place, that you can see when you walk around, and read the plaques, the staff are very professional and helpful, the rooms are so well done, and gorgeous to stay in, with comfy beds meaning a great nights sleep every night! Bodmin Jail

Bar and Restaurant staff helpful and polite. Food (breakfast) was very good. Checkin was below the standard expected, as was the attitude of the duty manager when we made a complaint. We won’t be staying at the hotel again for this reason.

From the moment we arrived we were very impressed with how the building has been restored, both outside and inside, retaining many original features. We were given a warm welcome by the staff who were happy to share their knowledge of the building. Our room had everything we needed and, considering the walls were stone, it was spotless. We enjoyed the Champagne Bar and The Chapel (for evening meal and breakfast), all of which were excellent. The later check out gave us time to explore the building. We look forward to a further stay in the future and would highly recommend.
