This was easily drivable from Salem. About an 18 minute drive from down town. The pool was nicely kept. In a shopping complex with Marshall’s, Nordstrom rack, and Target. The breakfast was overpriced and the rooms were clean.

The property was very clean and the staff was friendly. Although the place is a bit dated, everything is in great condition and well maintained. My granddaughter loved the geese that feed just across the road as well as all the songbirds in the trees on the property. The breakfast area is spacious and the 24 hour service area for snacks and necessities was a nice addition. We will be staying here again when we return to visit Salem.

When we requested bedding be changed I was told it was every 7 days. Their expedia page clearly says when requested. Evening manager was beyond rude. When we arrived early and asked for early check in clerk said "how could you check in early, when check out is 11:00?" with unbelievable attitude. The hotel sent me an email stating if I wanted early check in to request at front desk... NEVER AGAIN SONESTA!

Arrived early and was charged a $15 early check, it was obvious that many rooms were empty. To be charged a fee at this point is not good for their reputation. Once in the room it smelled like wet dogs. I understand that it is pet friendly but at least spray the room with air freshener. No complimentary beverages and an over priced breakfast, which tasted bland, fruit was not ripened. Bed was very comfortable and a very good shower. Also to be charged a fee for parking in a lot that was almost empty leaves a bad taste about this hotel chain.

Home Away from Home

I’m actually a local; I just wanted a place while having renovations done at my home. Having driven by this hotel many times, I was pleased to discover that it is just as nice on the inside as it has always seemed from the road. I would look forward to having friends/family staying here when visiting in the future.
