We have stayed at the Hilton Bournemouth before and loved it so this time we chose an upgraded balcony room. Unfortunately we were advised on checking that they didn’t have our requested room so they put us in a family room. The room was on the third floor and balcony overlooked the main road and did not get any sun. There were just two chairs on the balcony which meant you couldn’t sit out there for a drink really cause there was no table and the glass was quite dirty. The pool and spa area was nice and we used it twice, however in the chill out room there was no water or drinks available. There were quite a few young children in the pool which is fine but as the ceiling is low it was quite noisy. One of the other things we were looking forward to was having a drink on the rooftop bar but this was permanently closed. At breakfast they did not seem to be quite enough staff and the ones that were on were quite stressed. One chap kept running around clearing plates but it just made the whole thing quite manic especially as we were sat in the middle of the restaurant with people getting up and moving about all around us. One of the coffee machines was broken. The waiter didn’t tell us where to find anything luckily as we’ve been before, we knew it wasn’t a very good start of the day.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful to us. My husband is disabled and a wheelchair user - the only minor thing was the access to the bathroom with a wide doorway was perfect, unfortunately this means a large door swinging into the bathroom making wheelchair movement difficult. Perhaps a sliding door should be installed

Amazing hotel! 1 issue was the cleaner not knocking on one day and being rude when we asked for 10 mins to leave. Breakfast, room, everything else was good. I’ve been here a couple of times!

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed, this was as far from a hilton experience as you voukd imagine. Spa pool was over chloronated. Beds creaked and were like sleeping on an ironing board, although we did not sleep at all. There were the odd polite and well intentioned staff member who deserved praise . Never again !

Overall the stay was excellent. My 2 year old son enjoyed the pool very much while the adults enjoyed the massage and the gym. The food was decent. The room was great but housekeeping seemed a bit slow to complete all the cleaning in time; however if you request, they come right away and finish the work. The location is also excellent since it is really at the centre of Bournemouth and close to any major places you might want to visit.

Best breakfast buffet - impeccable service

Great stay at the hotel and rooms are lovely and big with great views if you have a twin balcony view. Great pool and spa and hotel bar. Reception staff were friendly and gave out a useful info sheet when you check in which was everything you need to know. Car parking is convenient next to hotel too. The big standout for me was the breakfast. Worth adding to the reservation. The manager who had blonde hair and was the f&B manager greeted us explained how everything worked and seated us it’s these little things that make a huge difference. The staff at breakfast had such a good flow, not a dirty table in sight and they were constantly checking in on the tables. Kian Cross the breakfast server also just as personable but he had a special sparkle with the guests and was so lovely to us recommending plenty of local places. He wasn’t over casual and was very professional and I think he was completely wasted in his current position. Both had very good energy and were special members of staff that many hotels are missing. Swimming pool also was such a highlight and they have family hours as well as adults only which pleases everyone. Only thing we didn’t like was the groups of non hotel guests in the hotel bar at night. Was slightly intimidating
