We have stayed at the Hilton Bournemouth before and loved it so this time we chose an upgraded balcony room.
Unfortunately we were advised on checking that they didn’t have our requested room so they put us in a family room. The room was on the third floor and balcony overlooked the main road and did not get any sun. There were just two chairs on the balcony which meant you couldn’t sit out there for a drink really cause there was no table and the glass was quite dirty.
The pool and spa area was nice and we used it twice, however in the chill out room there was no water or drinks available. There were quite a few young children in the pool which is fine but as the ceiling is low it was quite noisy.
One of the other things we were looking forward to was having a drink on the rooftop bar but this was permanently closed.
At breakfast they did not seem to be quite enough staff and the ones that were on were quite stressed. One chap kept running around clearing plates but it just made the whole thing quite manic especially as we were sat in the middle of the restaurant with people getting up and moving about all around us. One of the coffee machines was broken. The waiter didn’t tell us where to find anything luckily as we’ve been before, we knew it wasn’t a very good start of the day.
