Came on a spontaneous trip and booked this very last minute, it was great location, great price and perfect for a short stay! We enjoyed the 1812 bar and the live music, staff were super lovely, room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable! We will definitely be returning next time we are in Bournemouth!! Thank you

My rom was comfortable and it was a 5min walkbto beach.Awesome.
The noise levels have I creased massively since my last stay. My original room and major issues with the water and electricity.
The restaurant and 1812 bar staff were brilliant. The "manager" was not helpful and by the end of may stay; wouldn't even look me in the eye. My first room had drainage and electrical issues and my second room had problems too. WiFi works ok on floor two but not very well at the crack of dawn. Breakfast was good and came without any fuss

Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel right close to the sea front. Fridays and Saturdays can be noisy due to the nightclub. We would go back but would avoid the weekend!.
What a joke. Tired rooms. Lying management and staff. Thumping loud music that shakes the windows, doors and to until 4am.
When we complained, reception said that they send an email out to bookers saying about the loud music. We received no email. Reception lied when we checked in to say there was live music playing in the bar until 1.
It was a a nightclub playing distorted music until 4am.
Why would anyone pay to stay in a room where you can’t sleep because of incredibly loud music below shaking the room.
Bed and room was tired. Bath was discoloured. Tiles mouldy.
It was a complete joke compounded by some of the poorest customer service I’ve experienced.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
I stayed here for one night returning from Cornwall. It proved to be a good location & Reception staff were really helpful with a quick check in & my early morning departure.
The rooms need quite a bit of tlc, very outdated. The main staircase is beautiful but, other than reception and the bar, the whole place needs decorating.
Very pleasant stay, conveniently located for the pier, a bit on the noisy side but the hotel did warn me after I had booked so fair play, would stay again good job all.
Impressive when we turned up, but as we went upstairs and down the multiple corridors there was signs and odours of damp problems. The room was dated and also had damp issues, there was a dehumidifier in the corner which said it all. Luckily we were staying in the summer I couldn’t imagine this being very nice in the winter months
Very comfortable and clean hotel. Staff very friendly. Would have given 5 stars but unfortunately the wi fi was unusable. I struggled to even access my emails.
Nice little stay, hotel was lovely. Rooms were really
Good and spacious, breakfast was good. Only issue is the nightclub right on the side of the property. Which was very loud until late, otherwise a lovely Stay, can’t fault the place.
Hotel has def improved from my last stay several years ago.
Room was clean and well maintained, service friendly, and good breakfast.
Great central location also.
Very convenient for beach, shops and gardens.
Gates on the car park, our room was fairly quiet and nice, although a bit dated, shower wasn’t very good.
Breakfast was cooked as required and it was lovely 😊
Staff were very helpful.
We would stay there again 😁

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The property is very conveniently located. It is in a historic building – built in 1812 – but I don’t think of the property has been maintained since then! Damp patches all over the ceilings, electrical sockets hanging out of the wall, the bathroom door had a hole completely through it. There are very lively clubs beneath it, which are quite noisy, but we knew this and were okay with it. It is really the condition of the bedrooms that let the place down.
Great hotel. Have been coming for years for an annual birthday night out with a group of friends. Guy at reception was very friendly, especially as we were concerned we may not be able to park there as no space, but did manage to in the end. Hotel is great...not the most modern, no, but homely and rooms have always been spacious, clean and welcoming. The bar/club is great for a night out. Would definitely recommend. Very close to town centre and beach too. Well done Royal Exeter!
