The hotel needs TLC in a few areas. But on the whole, it's very clean. The staff are outstanding. The swimming pool is a lot smaller than the photo on the site shows. Get 8 people in it and it's full. If you're vegan or veggie, I would say eat somewhere else. When I asked if they changed their veggie option on the menu daily? I was told NO as all the chef knows how to cook. Room service after 9 pm, the chef can make a sandwich, but cannot do a bowl of Ice cream. (Pathetic) The rooms are small. Also you can hear the room next door, either using the shower or flushing the toilet. It's close to the beach & on a bus route.Breakfast is very good though.
Room was quiet and clean, hotel in a lovely location above the quieter end of the beach. Lovely park, just 100 yards away, above the beach for quiet stroll too
The reception team seemed not to care for their guests. On arrival during check in, I waited for about 10 minutes as the receptionist was eating and talking to her coworkers in the next room.
Also when I need to get something for the room, I need to go down to reception to collect it every time.
Our bedroom was fine, but we were surprised to find it located in the basement. The overall layout of the hotel felt like a labyrinth, making navigation quite awkward. Furthermore, the images on the website were misleading, especially for the swimming pool, which was considerably smaller than the pictures suggested.

Nice visit with friendly staff. Was kept waiting at reception for check-in with others being dealt with who arrived after me, quite annoying. Would revisit.

Big room swimming pool gym sauna good location suited me on my Todd would stay again
The staff here are nice. The hotel is very dated. Booked a standard room. It was tiny. Had sloped ceilings and was very cramped. The TV was on the wall at the same height as the bed. Third floor, up in the tiny lift (4 people only) along corridor, down stairs and up some more. It looked out at a brick wall. The room was clean as was the bathroom but ceiling sloped above toilet making it uncomfortable for husband. Went to use the very small pool, the water was cloudy and there was lots of hair visible floating. Changing room was small and some locker doors were hanging off. Parking is a joke. Very limited spaces. £15 per night but told don’t move car as space not guaranteed on return even though you have paid! The breakfast was nice. Good selection. Cost £11 if paid at hotel reception but £16 if paid in restaurant!!!

Clean comfortable
Nice hotels. Rooms were clean. Hallways dated with worn carpets on the stairs. Breakfast was delicious however disappointed with hot drink selection as the only option was instant sachets. Pool very small- do not be fooled by the photograph- steam room not working which was also disappointing. Did the job for a short stay but would not return.
One night to go to The Pavilion Theatre - 15 mins walk. Check in was good. Room was tidy - not the best view (301) but as we only there one night it didn’t worry us.
I enjoyed my short stay at the Durley Dean Hotel. The staff were friendly and efficient, breakfast was delicious (lots of choice and well-prepared), and my single room was very comfortable with everything I needed. I booked an early check-in and was able to secure a parking space in the small car park, and also use the pool at its quietest. All in all, a great stay, and I would return.
From arriving and having the most helpful receptionist was a great start.
The room was lovely and clean as was the bathroom. The sauna and steam room were so relaxing along with a swim in the pool. The location is great and close to the beach.
The room was very small and really could do with a paint. Wardrobe looked and felt like it was going to fall over, remote for TV didn’t work even after changing the batteries, lipstick on walls, mould and cobwebs all over bathroom window.
Carpark cost £15 a day but even after paying you was not guaranteed a parking spot.
The staff were very friendly and breakfast was good.
The pool is very small but nice , changing rooms were clean but showers were dirty and really need updating
Very positive welcome at reception even when they were training new staff. All staff in the hotel were very friendly and welcoming. Dining options were perfect and food was great quality food and service.Room was clean and tidy, room serviced every day.
