Won't be going back

Boooked a table in the restraunt and one we arrived (a 5 hour journey), we were told there was no chef. Reluctantly decided to try and find somewhere else in the town (No viable suggestions from the Hotel staff), dropped our bage before going out and found they were taking orders for other people in the Restaurant. we queeried this but they still wouldn't feed us. Also the toilet roll (the only one in the room) was wet and one cup in the room had what looked like wet ketchup on the handle. No room heating in the morning

I really liked the fact that this was a traditional town centre hotel, with local staff who knew what was wanted, nothing fancy but very good for an overnight stay. I also liked the fact that I could book room only. However, there is nothing on the website about parking - I think it needs to say that there is no dedicated parking, that there are bays outside for one hour only, so okay to load and unload, but needs to be an indication that there is a short stay car park behind the hotel and a long stay one a little further away.

Apart from the shower water not being over hot , everything was 5 star. The shower was not cold but I do like it really hot. That was the only criticism I had . The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again

Had a lovely Mothers day meal but unfortunately we were placed by the side entrance and people were constantly opening the door . It was absolutely freezing in there , poor Mother is 90 and it was way too cold for her . The roast meal however was faultless lovely and tasty and piping hot . Hotel Room could do with updating but it was very spacious and exceptionally clean .

It should have mentioned there are no Lifts on the premises ! We had 43 steps to our 2nd floor room ! My wife has a medical condition but she said it was good excercise ! We requested on 2 days to have our room refreshed and this was not done ! until we told them ! We cannot fault the breakfast and staff !

Dreadful sleep with rats in the roof and no tea making facilities. Breakfast was more than disappointing and the staff couldnt care less. I wouldn't book a meal here either because the chef, and I use that term loosely, isnt very good at all
