Making Maine our home has been the best thing we ever did. Such expansive beauty, so much calm, wonderful art, creativity, outdoor beauty and kind people who appreciate our wonderful history of coastal life and want to share and protect it, makes us very grateful to be here.
Hosting for 14 years and having hundreds of guests, our goal is to assure quality and the peace and calm you expect. A unique property and hosts on site to assist with questions to assure a wonderful stay.
All photos are of this waterfront, certified organic farm.
Two miles by water to Castine, Newsweek's 2025 Best Small Town in the USA.
Acadia is a hour away and the Blue Hill Peninsula is full of wonderful
restaurants, galleries, hiking trails and swimming.
Recently restored, this space is bright, open and totally comfortable. The kitchen has an old cast iron sink and a full working kitchen, along with antiques and art from the farm. You can cook up a delicious dinner with some fresh lobsters in the kitchen and dining area downstairs. And upstairs you’ll find a comfy queen-sized bed with cozy, seasonal comforters, full bath, and living area. The skylight lets in both the stars and the morning sun and there are many places to relax—inside and out. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine at the outdoor table with chairs and grille.
All set for remote work.
Bikes and Kayaks may be delivered. Kayak lessons are in Castine, highly recommend and various cruises are available. Take a cruise on the Isle au Haut ferry and walk around part of Acadia located on the island, board in Stonington.
John said,
The space was lovely and just what we were looking for - a pleasant, quaint, cozy place to stay near the water, with oodles of charm. Dick and Carol were phenomenal hosts who struck a perfect balance between offering great warmth and hospitality with giving us our space. Carol and Dick were also incredibly knowledgeable of the area and graciously keyed us into happenings nearby. They have my complete recommendations.
A guest, "The entire setting is pristine, peaceful and ready to offer the best of well-appointed accommodations to sea-loving travelers!
"Carol has created a space where guests have everything they need. It is cozy and rustic downstairs and bright and cheery upstairs. We highly recommend.
Come to the farm to enjoy the wonderful open space of our farm. Located near so many local attractions, including, Deer Isle, Blue Hill, Stonington, Castine and Penobscot.
Brooksville hosts the best organic farming and farmer's market on Tuesdays. Local farms bring organic foods, baked items, cheeses, pottery, jewelry and more. Fresh bread is baked 1/2 mile away, twice a week and pizza and chocolate croissants are also available. Local lobstermen make finding fresh Maine Lobsters easy and you can even get them cooked for you.
Our beach and boat house look down the river to Castine, Islesboro and Camden and the waterfront is beautiful.
Bar Harbor is just over an hour and Acadia is a great trip to walk or ride your bike around the trails there. Our peninsula has loads of open space and is surrounded by water and sailors love these waters. Theater, antiques, music, and local craft are nearby.
The apartment has a complete private entrance and living space. Being on a large farm we invite guests to use our beaches and fields. Located on the right side of the farmhouse, a private entrance and yard with seating and grille. The apartment is open and keys are available on the table for your use.
The Apartment has a small yard and it's own grille. Access to our beaches include the western beach with fantastic sunsets. The north beach which is totally private and often can be a home to otters.
This is a housekeeping apartment with initial supplies included only. You can ask for added cleaning if needed.
Our neighbors include the wonderful Tinderhearth, 1/4 mile for bread and pizza and open mic, and Buck's Harbor for supplies. Yoga is in Blue Hill with David Walker, kayaks are available to rent and be delivered here. Castine is 2 miles by water and has our favorite Pentagoet restaurant along with great pizza and history. Fresh milk can be found at the Retburgs in Penobscot and lobsters cooked from Northern Bay Market. The local parades and breakfasts are on going and the Steel Bands are playing through out the summer. The Methodist Church in Buck's Harbor has music every Tuesday night all summer and the Yacht Club has dancing on Thursday night. Reversing Fall's Sanctuary also offers many local events including Solstice celebrations and art shows. Holbrook Island along with numerous hiking trails abound through the Blue Hill Heritage Trust. Enjoy swimming at Walker's Pond or if you prefer, use our beach and the chill of the water right here.
Don't forget all the activity in Stonington at the Opera House or enjoy a boat ride. The New Surry Theater has ongoing shows, Deer Isle's artists and Haystack are busy all summer and visit Brooklin Boat Yard. There is classical music at Kneisal Hall and in Blue Hill. The Grand in Ellsworth is busy all summer also. And Acadia is just over an hour away. There are many nature walks and ocean studies happening also. One can also just sit on our beach and enjoy the many types of boats that are part of this seaside farm.
