Lower 40 is a charming property located in the Deep Creek area of Bryson City. Part of a 30-acre estate property, this cabin has a sizable yard with private hot tub, covered porch, fire pit, and plenty of room for family games of frisbee, tag, or just counting fireflies. The property is within a gated estate, but is private from other homes. Also enjoy the on-site hiking trail leading you to our "Peace Valley" pasture. Or, just relax and enjoy the amazing Mountain View from the hot tub. Just minutes from Deep Creek hiking and waterfalls, or from the downtown Bryson City restaurants, shops, and breweries, this is the perfect basecamp whether you come to ride the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, or just to enjoy nature.

There is just one step up to get inside this single-story structure. The great room offers full kitchen and living area including all appliances and a washer/dryer. Outside is a gas grill plus a charcoal park-like grill. Dine under the trees with the protection of the covered porch. There are two bedrooms: one queen bedroom and a second bedroom with both a set of twin bunk bed plus a queen bed. There is one shared bathroom.

Watershed Cabins provide a complete stay including fast, free internet, firewood for the fire pit, and even an extra propane tank for the gas grill.

This was a magical vacation. This cabin provided beautiful scenery hiked up on pops mountain. Everyday was amazing to see the sunrise over the Smoky Mountains. The cabin had great location less then 10 mins into town making it easily accessible to everything and less than ten mins to GSMR, also Deep Creek Trail. Loved every minute being in Bryson City, NC. Cabin location made it perfect for a beautiful and quiet getaway!

Great stay

The property was amazing, with great views and a great location. The only complaint is the cleanliness of the home's interior. The couch was sticky, and the floors were very dirty. Overall, I would recommend the home and would like to come back again.

Quaint, quiet and beautiful

This was our home base during our family vacation to explore the Great Smoky Mountains NP. It was close to everything we needed, but far enough away to feel like we were secluded in the woods. Bonus was coming back to the house after a day hiking and getting to soak in the hot tub.

Great cabin, beautiful property

We loved our stay at this adorable cabin. It was clean and well stocked and also decorated for Christmas which was a nice touch. The property managers communicated well before and during our stay and were available if we had any issues (though we did not). Would stay here again!

Beautiful Getaway

This was the perfect cabin for our Fall Break getaway! Upon arriving we appreciated the gated entry. It’s so close to town that you wonder how it’s going to be so secluded, but once you venture up the hill, it’s your own quiet little paradise. The cabin had everything we needed and after long days of hiking we couldn’t wait to get back to the hot tub! The whole process of booking was simple and communication was top notch! Thanks so much for a great getaway!!!

Cozy and Peaceful

We loved our vacation! So nice to have some firepit, grilling, and hot tub time with the family. Thanks to the fantastic property mgmt company that was super friendly and provided excellent communication. The location was just a few minutes drive into downtown Bryson City, which was perfect for dining and fun!

Wonderful experience!

We absolutely adored our time at the Lower 40 property. The house was as lovely as advertised, with an amazing yard for the kids and dogs. The view from the hot tub alone was worth the trip. It was an easy drive to town and to Deep Creek. Property managers provided great service when we had a slight issue (they were able to resolve it quickly, even on the holiday weekend). We will be back next year!
