We Were Told to “Suffer Through the Night”

The air conditioning in one of our two rooms wasn’t working. I informed the front desk, who said nothing could be done until the next day but promised someone would come to fix it. If it couldn’t be fixed, they would see if another room was available. Despite another guest at check-in saying he only needed one of his three reserved rooms, the front desk told us there were no other rooms available and that we had no choice but to sleep in the hot room. It was unbearable. We slept nearly naked and still couldn’t rest due to the heat. The second room also couldn’t sleep because, despite "soundproofing" being listed as an amenity, street noise continued until 4 a.m. No one came to check the broken A/C the next day, and by 4:30 p.m. we booked another hotel—unwilling to suffer another night. The assistant manager was visibly upset we were checking out early—not quite berating, but close. She said we should have asked to move rooms before rebooking. But we were told someone would come fix the unit, and no one did. It’s unclear why we were responsible for requesting a move after that. If no one was coming to repair the A/C, they should have proactively moved us. I requested a refund for the unused night, especially since the room did not match what was advertised. It was denied. No offer, no compensation—only an apology prefacing how we were somehow to blame for their broken A/C.

I got room 101 . Probably the only room on the 1st floor . Next to the conference rooms and right next door to the public bathroom where the people from the conferences seam to congregate so it was loud early in the morning and if you are happen to be showering during conference hours you’ll burn with the hot water from the shower as they flush the toilet in that public bathroom. Also I reported a musty foul smell so they diligently sent the cleaning person with something that looked like windex ( multipurpose cleaner) as room freshener . Also there is a thermostat in the room but no AC exhausts only vent that didn’t seamed to blow any air so if it’s hot outside you might wanna get a different room since also the windows are facing the hotel indoor lobby so you can’t open them and since that room is directly in front of the conference rooms you might wanna keep your black out curtains closed at all times for privacy. Over all terrible value for the price

Fine for a city break. Worn and tired room. Broken shower on the wall that was very hard to turn on/off and use. Shower often flooded the bathroom during use with the floor vent. Yellow water coming out taps & bath. Went to bar for 241 aperol and were given a bill in full, was told we should have said before we ordered?!

Be aware, noisy bar opposite hotel.

The Urbanist bar directly opposite the hotel was extremely noisy. Our room was facing the bar which was open until 2am. After the bar shut people leaving the bar were not considerate and continued to hang around well after 3am. We had complimentary earplugs provided by the hotel on our beds upon arrival which says it all. The rroom and bedding also smelt of cigarette smoke.

This hotel is centrally located in the old city. It’s the perfect spot to explore Bucharest from. The hotel is just off a main road that runs through the city. There is a taxi drop off point just outside the hotel; about a 30 second walk away from the hotel entrance. I was a solo female traveller to Bucharest and I felt very safe staying at this location. The hotel room was spacious, clean and the staff were very friendly. There’s lots of options for food around the hotel too. This is the perfect spot to stay if you want to walk around and reach all the main locations to visit in the city.

It is a clean, well run property. Nice and helpful staff . It's in a pedestrian only zone . But a safe pickup place for Uber,Bolt, or taxis us just a few meters away. My only complaint is that they keep it much too warm. The only way to keep the room comfortable was to turn off the heat - it was heated well enough from the hallway.
