The room was very clean, the amenities were great, they have a coffee, tea, water, ice station with real glass at each floor. The hotel is really beautiful with a large fireplace next to the bar where people can hang out. They also have a second lounge with board games, chess and cards. What really stood out was Candler who went above and beyond to provide me with really important information about my planned activities such as my hike at Mt Mitchell and stargazing at the bare dark sky observatory.

The hotel is so unique with its antique furnishings and charm. Amenities are good with coffee, ice, and water always available. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. The breakfast buffet selections did not change the three days we were there, but there is enough variety that we had plenty to eat. And it's included with the room rate! The Carriage House Restaurant next door had excellent food! The menu is varied from salads to sandwiches to steak and chicken. We ate there two nights and was not disappointed. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are good. Service is excellent!

Mea , at the front desk, was very helpful and cared that my stay was pleasant, though it was short. I found NuWray easily and was able to park without difficulty. I arrived a little later in the evening, and Mea made sure to check with me so she could be sure someone would be present to check me in. My room was very clean, cozy, and inviting. I appreciated the easy access to water and ice late at night. Though this is a historic building, I found myself insulated from any noise in the hallway - a great bonus for a light sleeper. In all, I would stay at NuWray again and will recommend it in the future. You won’t be disappointed!
