The town of Buxton offers independent shops, cafés and eateries, and is home to Buxton Opera House which has weekly shows, and the Pavilion Gardens, plus the Caverns of Castleton and links into Manchester city centre. Explore Bakewell and its famous pudding shops, or take a walk down the river and a stop at Chatsworth House. There are ample activities that you can do from this fabulous and homely base.
