I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Calgary Downtown for one night, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations given the over $200 a night price tag. The location is great, especially if you're attending an event at the Calgary Saddledome, but the service was lacking.
We sat in the lounge for over 15 minutes while three staff members walked by without acknowledging us. No one even said, "Be right with you," which felt unprofessional. After expressing our frustration at the front desk, the response was underwhelming. The staff simply said, “They must be busy,” offering no apologies or assistance.
Also, while they provide bottled water in the room, it's only free for members. Otherwise, it’s $2.50 a bottle, which feels pretty unreasonable for a hotel charging this much. For the price, they should either include the water or leave it out altogether.
To top it off, there wasn’t enough parking for guests, so we had to use the lot across the street instead of parking in the hotel’s underground garage. Overall, this stay was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it.
