We paid for 2 joining rooms. 1 king bed and 2 double beds. We arrived to the hotel and they said it would be a few hours until ready. No problem! Gave us our wrist bands and we could swim, eat and enjoy the resort. When the room was ready, it was for 2 double beds only with no additional king bedroom. I said I had 2 autistic sons that could not share a bed. That’s why we ordered their own beds. They need their space and we had our rooms paid for. They said sorry that’s all they could do. After showing my receipt again of the details paid for. They then said they would work on it but it would be longer. As long as we get our rooms, ok. They said the rooms were ready. We would have to pay a bit more for the second room though. Even though it was paid for. They refused to budge on me paying more. So I had to pay a little bit more for the 2nd room. We were given 2 double beds in each room. We didn’t get a king bed at all. My husband and I had to squish in a double bed and have a king bed at home. It was very tight and uncomfortable to not get what we asked for. Our room wasn’t cleaned after the first night and had to call down for housekeeping. Everything else was fantastic but not getting the rooms we paid for right away was disappointing. Great view of pool and the other side of ocean though. So overall we are thankful!

Just returned from four day stay and I’ll give you my honest pros/cons list. Pros: Resort was clean, staff was amazing, beds are comfortable, breakfast was good, drinks were typical all inclusive type, they stock your fridge daily with beer, soda and water. You can walk to the ferry which is literally next to the resort if you want to go to Isla Mujeres (which we did twice for the beaches). There is nightly entertainment and daily activities. Cons: Beach is small, very small. Not what is pictured on the website, so that was a little disappointing. There is only one pool and I wouldn’t call it “large” but there was plenty of seating. We were told the only reservation for the restaurants was at 10pm, even though they NEVER looked full. They have three restaurants (Seafood, Italian and Mexican) but I couldn’t tell you how the food was because we never ate at one. Lunch and dinner buffet food was always the same. All in all, if you’re looking for a small resort, this will serve its purpose if you don’t care about the beach area. We ended up going out for dinner nightly off site. It was easy to take Ubers, the taxis were much more expensive. I’d stay somewhere else next time, further up the beach.

We spent a week at occidental! The resort was nice! The resort could use More lounge chairs! The bar closed super early which wasn’t the best! We did pick a bad week which was spring break but all in all the kids were good!! My favorite part of the stay was Sandra Cruz the evening waitress! She was phenomenal and on top of our orders! I highly recommend her!

Nice place to stay. Small beach. Fun to watch boats come through channel. 1 minute walk to ferry to Isla Mujeres. Not really the ocean view you would want with a resort. Staff was very nice and food was good. Mexican restaurant was top notch.

This resort had amazing, kind and happy staff. It was clean. LUIS was amazing!!! Got our room upgraded for us to the junior suite and was super nice and welcoming and available for anything we needed. The resort is Very close to the very to get over to Isla Mujures. Close to hotel zone and the isla mall. We stayed in the junior suite and it had great views. I strongly suggest booking a room with an ocean view as any other view will be a street or another resort which is not very nice. The food options were just okay. The a la cartels had decent menus but nothing that gave the wow factor. Luckily we were able to try some authentic Mexican tacos off the resort. The beach was small but very clean. Hard to find loungers and they are limited but the beach bar is close. Lots of boat traffic in front of the beach, it did not bother us but we were not aware that they would be there when booking. The bar staff and staff who bring you drinks around the pool and the beach were so friendly and so amazing. Great at their jobs and we were always served at the bar within less than 30 seconds. Our only BAD experience with his resort was one of the concierges trying to trick us into going to a “presentation” at their sister resort which was pitched to us as being able to spend the day there as if we would our own resort but only to find out it was a 2 hour presentation where they try to force you and guilt trip you into getting a time share at the other occidental hotel.

The Resort was super gorgeous and kinda on the smaller size which was kinda nice. The bars an d drinks are amazing. There were lots of food options but I will say the food was just okay, but the restaurants are delicious!

I stayed here with 6 of my friends for a college spring break and we had a lot of fun. Food was pretty bad I will not lie, and the drinks didn’t have much actual alcohol in them but after enough it did the trick. The staff was great, everyone was very nice and fun. We especially liked Jose the bartender and the buffet and Mexican restaurant servers. Overall we had a great time, it was very affordable, but the food could have been better.

Run down. We had to have the fridge replaced, the dresser drawer fixed and the bathroom sink fixed from a leak that got everything on the vanity wet. That was the 2 nd room. First room was so loud at night and we can’t hear! Paint scrapings all over the balcony. Second room did not have balcony…super dissatisfied/dissapointed!
