I had such a wonderful stay at this hotel! The service was amazing, the staff was friendly, and everything was so well taken care of. It truly felt like a relaxing and welcoming place. That being said, I did notice a lack of diversity in the overall atmosphere. After chatting with some employees, I learned that the hotel was historically not open to people of color until recently, which was honestly disappointing to hear. While my experience was still great, I do think there’s an opportunity for the hotel to be more inclusive—whether through more entertainment or cultural representation. I’d love to come back in the future and see those positive changes because this place has so much potential to be even better!

Stayed at Riu Kukulkan in CanCun! The staff is friendly and helpful. The Resort is modern and updated. They kept it very clean. The food especially the Elite Club Restaurant is exceptionally good. The views are astonishing! The pools are clean and well maintained. The drinks keep coming! Can’t wait to go back!

This is my second year in this hotel and let me tell you it changed , still super clean ,amazing service just the food went bad ...they have 5 specialized restaurants and the one that is still great is the asian ( ask for osorio ) the rest are average at best .. hopefully they will fix the food as this place can be amazing

I don’t have a single negative thing to say about this resort, and I am someone who is very picky about where I stay. My boyfriend and I were here for a week. Everything is super clean, the food was amazing, and the service was great. Compared to some other all inclusive resorts I have stayed at, Riu Kukulkan offered even more. All of the staff members were super friendly and were very helpful when I wasn’t feeling well from heat exhaustion. Moments after we checked out, the front desk notified us that housekeeping found my boyfriends wallet in our room and were able to get it to us before we had even left the property. The transportation from the airport/hotel was very convenient and easy to figure out. Also great location with a mall with a huge selection of designer shops right across the street - we felt very safe walking around.

The staff could not have been friendlier! Everyone was extremely polite and helpful. The food options were great. Highly recommend!

Excellent location and staff. Food is challenging, the general Buffett is the same daily. The only great meal on site was the Asia Dinner. We left the resort and went to Ruth Chris for dinner since the food was so bad.

Overall, Riu Kululkan has many pleasure performances every evenings and very enjoyable there. Most food restaurants and buffet restaurant was fresh and tasty foods. We’d like to rebook there sometime in the future.

I know RIU is trying to cater to foreigners, but adding a touch of Mexico would probably bring a lot more business. Every day for lunch they have hotdogs and hamburgers. Really? American people don’t eat that everyday. Maybe switching the lunch options to reflect different works foods would be a great addition. Also, the liquor seemed water down.

This is a lovely resort. The beach was clean and the waters were a gorgeous turquoise color. Room facing the ocean had a fantastic view. Staff was very kind but frequently misunderstood requests (there is a language barrier so that’s understandable). QR code menus too often showed food and drinks that did not match at all what was served & was always a disappointing departure from the picture & description from the QR menu. Food was mostly meh (it’s basically cafeteria style foods, so don’t have high expectations). 3 family members got very sick with food poisoning (severe vomiting & diarrhea) after eating at their Italian restaurant at the resort. When we mentioned it to hotel staff the next morning (we didn’t make any demands, just wanted to let them know), they went into full deflection mode and said we could seek medical care if necessary but that’s not covered by the resort. They offered to let us make a reservation for any restaurant at the resort (they’re typically first come, first served). The restaurant we chose had no wait so it wasn’t any real perk. Overall, this is a beautiful resort. They keep it very clean. Food is basic. Drinks are basic but refreshing. Menus for food and drinks are often misleading. Staff were very friendly but there were miscommunication issues. If you’re looking for luxury and fine dining, look at higher priced options. If you’re looking for a clean, lovely resort with a great beach, decent food, friendly staff, this is a great place.
