This was our second time staying here. The actual property and rooms are beautiful. When we stayed here last year, the food options were great. This year they changed things up a bit. The main dining room last year had great al la carte options to order for dinner. This year it was buffet style all day every day which was mediocre at best. The only other options were the sports bar if you like bar food and a makeshift sushi bar. The rest of the restaurants were reservation only. The only way to get a reservation was to book through a "concierge" and sit through one of their timeshare/membership presentations. We declined several times, and our reservation request were ignored. We were basically told that the other handful of restaurants were for members only. We ate the buffet as much as we could and ate off of the resort several times just so we could get some good food. We were not impressed this time around and will not be back. Very disappointed.

Staff at the front desk was super rude from the moment I arrived on the property. The welcome was: your check outbdate is ABC!!! They also ask you to sign a form authorising the release of personal information, including passport details, to third parties, with no option to opt out of such unnecessary infringement of privacy rights. I asked for a copy of the form, and staff claimed they cannot give clients a copy! I complained about the rude staff and the form to one of the managers, and one of the staff was dismissive and boldly claimed, you're wasting your time, nothing will be done. True, nothing was done!

I would not recommend Royal Sand Resort if you are looking for a fun, lively vacation. The rooms are very old and in need of renovation. There is little to no entertainment, making the atmosphere quite dull. The food options are extremely limited, you need to make reservations far in advance just to get into the restaurants, and some food items even come with an extra charge, which is disappointing for an “all-inclusive” resort. The beverages are poor quality and not enjoyable. The resort seems to be catered mostly to an older crowd, so if you are young and looking for energy, activities, or nightlife, this is not the hotel for you. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and not worth the price.

The food was just ok. The bacon was clumped together in a big pile. I did not enjoy the food. Could have been better. The waiters were inattentive and service was hard to receive by the pool. There was one guy at the bar who was great. All the other waiters were rude or lacked service. Not sure I would come back to this resort.

First, I want to recognize the bartenders at the main pool bar. They are outstanding bartenders and genuinely kind individuals. They truly care about guests and go above and beyond to make your experience at the Royal Sands memorable. They deserve a raise or promotion. However, I was very disappointed with the persistent attempts to get me to attend your 90-minute presentation for your club or membership. One day, I received a call in my room, and when I didn’t answer, someone knocked on my door while my wife was trying to rest. Later, I was approached again in the pool, even after I had already declined. About an hour later, yet another person came over to speak with me while I was relaxing poolside, followed by a text message to my phone. And this was just one of the seven days of my stay. Is this level of persistence really necessary?
