Our overall experience at the resort was good — the property was beautiful, the rooms were cleaned daily, and the mini bar was consistently refilled, which we really appreciated. However, there are a few things I’d like to point out:
Before booking, I noticed most bad reviews about the food and i can’t agree more. The buffet restaurant had about 90% of the same items every day. The description mentioned a “different theme each night,” but in reality, only 1 or 2 dishes reflected the theme while the rest of the menu stayed the same. The fine dining restaurants also required early morning reservations since spots filled up fast, and their menus were quite limited as well.
When we checked in, we were asked if we want to do any excursions & was told that there was a special anniversary deal, which sounded great. The representative also mentioned a short visit to a new resort they were building, supposedly just to spread the word. However, the day before our excursion, we got a call at 8 AM saying we had a “presentation” booked. We didn’t understand what it was about but they moved it to 10:30 AM for us. When we arrived, we found out it was actually a 1.5-hour sales presentation, and that the excursion discount was tied to attending it. They said we weren’t required to buy anything, but then asked for our photo ID and credit card, which made us uncomfortable. We declined at that point. They weren’t pushy afterward, but it would’ve been better if it was explained initially.
