Riverside cottage is a charming 19th century home that’s recently been completely refurbished. Located in the heart of Canterbury, within the Roman city walls, it's just a short walk from the main attractions.
The house is at the end of a no-through-road. There’s no passing traffic, making it a quiet, peaceful place to relax.
It's located directly on the River Stour and enjoys beautiful views; so if you love being near the water, this is the place for you.

However,
• bedroom 2 can also be configured as a king-size double
• bedroom 1 has a smaller trundle bed (20cm shorter than normal bed), stored under the main bed.
Either or both of these options can be provided upon request, with sufficient notice. There is an additional charge of £20 per stay for using one these custom configurations. Please see the Additional photos – Bed Configurations, for clarification on these options.
To request a non-standard bedroom configuration please book and message us to say which option you would like. We will then manually request the fee of £20 via the Resolution Centre.
There is also a pop-up 'travel cot'. It’s kept in the wardrobe of the master bedroom and needs to be set up. Bedding for the cot isn’t provided.
*** Parking ***
Free parking can be arranged upon request. You must provide your car registration number well before arrival – ideally a week. I will arrange a 'Visitor Permit' for you which will allow you to use the "City Centre" zone on-street parking.
There are usually spaces outside the cottage and there are other spaces a short walk from the cottage on the neighbouring streets. City Centre zone spaces can’t be reserved or guaranteed however so far there has never been a problem and guests have always found a space. Please see the Additional photos – Parking 1, for a view of what City Centre zone spaces are where.
Alternatively, for a short stay there is ample off-street parking in the various public car parks nearby. Please see the Additional photos – Parking 1. Or for longer stays the cheapest parking option is to use one of the City's Park and Ride carparks. They charge £4/day. There are three "Park and Ride" car parks, the closest one is Wincheap and is about 15 minutes walk from the house. Please see the Additional photos – Parking 2.
