Located on five acres of coastal hillside sloping down to the water’s edge, you can relax and enjoy stunning views from the dining table, the daybed nook or deck. A private path provides access to one's own beach and peaceful sandy cove where you can wander along the shore and dig for New Zealand clams. Kaimata Retreat and Kakapo Cabin can host 10 (+1) guests between them making it the perfect destination for a family or group getaway.
The space The interior of Kaimata Retreat is divided into two buildings, one side comprising two stylish studios and a guest laundry. The other building has one suite and a large open plan dining, lounge and kitchen area.
Kakapo Cabin offers a full kitchen, lounge, dining, bathroom, two bedrooms and an office with books and games for entertainment, the office can also sleep an extra guest if needed. Other things to note Kaimata Retreat and Kakapo Cabin are in a rural setting with no phone reception. There are no TVs but wifi is available. It is best to shop in Dunedin before heading out to Kaimata. There is a small store, takeaways & 2 restaurants 12 minutes away in Portobello.
